I see we are being linked with a move for john souttar from hearts. Think it would be a great move. Any truth in it?

Makes sense, a young Scottish player who has good experience of Scottish Premiership at affordable price of £1m plus add ons no doubt, recently capped by Scotland.
I think McCrorie could do a good job at the back where he used to play, he’s great at intercepting and tackling but not as good at passing, think he’s similar to Worral who’s going back down south with more than enough options in middle already.

would be a goo international he could become a good investment. The sheep will likely get 5-6m for McKenna. and I don't think he is miles ahead of either Bates or Souttar.

I like Souttar and think he’s on par with both Bates and McKenna, I don’t think he’ll drastically improve us but I think he’d offer another option. I think we’ll go back in for Cooper from Millwall as I believe he is still a long term target who is now going into his last year on his contract. If we end up with Goldson, Katic, Souttar and Cooper then I think we’ll okay centrally at the back.

I wasn't sure about david bates at the beginning, but he began to win me over and then of course left for hamburg. But i do think john souttar is a much better footballing centre half, than big bates to be honest. I think souttar would be a really good signing for us, IF we can get him.
Hearts will most definitely play hardball with us, if we move to try and sign souttar.

Jboy21, time will tell as they say. He made 20 plus first team games, scored in a couple, and we offered him less than £5k a week to stay. Bad shout I’m afraid and SG agrees.

Jboy21, once he broke thru he was ahead of Bruno, Martin Wilson and the young Portugeuse CH signed by Pedro (and now apparently the subject of an £800k bid from Benfica), all paid significantly more than. Believe Bates was initially paid around £1000 whilst holding down position in the first team, and also touted for inclusion in the full international squad. My understanding is that after receiving 2 ridiculously low offers he was made a last ditch offer of just under £4000. During the season his progress was being monitored by several clubs and when Hamburg made him an offer he accepted. IMO sit was as poor a decision as I’ve seen as in many a year. It pre-dates SG but the DOF has much to answer for. I shall continue to monitor the progress of the Ginger Ramos.

Watch David bates performance v Kazakhstan. boy is murder looked better than he was because of the dross beside him. Ginger ramos 😂😂 ramos can actsully play big bates can't make a 10 yard pass if he is our level we will never catch celtic.

I’m old enough to remember when a young Alex Mcleish broke into the Scotland side. He was said to be raw and out of his depth. Let’s see guys, I will continue to follow progress of the boy Bates and know he is following closely the progress of rangers.

Bates is awful. You only had to look at his inept performance against Kazakhstan. Couldn’t defend constantly gave the ball away and no positional sense. Truly awful defender.

I personally would look to bring Halkett back, I could be wrong but i think he is a free transfer at the end of the season, financially would make sense and proved that he can do a job and he’s better than worrall in my opinion. I like soutter and think he would be good too but I seem to remember him having a few lengthy injuries.

Is the halkett move by hearts a replacement or partner for souttar do you think? I personally would like to see us get a decent long term partner for CG. don't think katic is the answer just yet. Maybe give him another season to settle then if he doesn't cut it send him on his way. Personally would love us to try 343 formation with CG Katic and souttar. Tav on right Candaeis left side with jack and kamara in middle of park. Would have morelos kent if here jones if not and arfield.

I see bates sub again in German second division, has started less that half the games since signing. As said by many, not good enough.
