Jboy21, firstly let me say i'm not having a dig here mate, as i was told exactly the same thing as you were, regarding our possible signing of ryan kent. I was told the kent deal was done and dusted with a fee of £5.5million going to liverpool, with the fee eventually rising to £7million, with liverpool also insisting on a sell on clause being inserted into the deal! Now gerrard has stated tonight, that he's doing everything to make sure kent is back at rangers next season and the club have made an offer. There waiting on word back from liverpool and gerrard is also awaiting news from kent's agent, regarding our offer. But gerrard did also say the offer is another year loan deal. I can understand that, as there's no way if true, that we could afford anywhere near £12million for kent!
Still better to at least have him for next season, even though its only on loan, as to not having him at all. Hits home now that we'll probably never have ryan kent as our player for keeps, i'm afraid!

You's were told utter nonsense and chose to believe it, do you seriously believe an ex employee would know any of that mentioned, sell on fees etc, go and seek immediate help!

Supercooper, it’s my opinion that he’s not worth that amount, certainly not to us, maybe a Cardiff or Fulham who have tend of millions in parachute payments to play with. Liverpool may see the benefit in selling him now, they may not, what they will know is that he will never be good enough for their first team and they will take a decision on when to sell at their end. I think the goodwill they show our gaffer and the paltry difference in a couple of £M makes to them might sway their decision and £5.5M might be a goer but maybe I’m just getting carried away. I’d be disappointed if we don’t get 2/ 3 players in this summer for £10-£12M supplemented by more loans and bosmans, I completely trust the people in charge of this just now and look forward to an exciting transfer window, onwards and upwards.

Kent is better than we have and is better than Jones however he’s not worth more than £5M and to be honest, we can’t take that risk of spending more in just one player. Remember he was really poor last season with Bristol City, they couldn’t wait to get rid of him.

If c. £5m is acceptable then let’s do business, if not then let’s wish him well and move on. If the rumours are true about Turnbull being available for £2M and Taylor from Killie being available for £1.5m then that to me is better value having both of them (and plenty of cover on the wings) than just signing Kent. Just my opinion!

Agree S_R_K, Turnbull worth £3m IMO and Taylor from Killie £1.5M Max, these clubs will look for top dollar though quite rightly, as we would in their position.

I wouldn’t say Taylor is worth 1.5 million.

Let's look at it this way, if Kent was contracted with us and had the season he just had, how much would we demand for potential buyers? I don't for one minute believe we'd want to go as low as 12m!

Wee bear I would take both they players turnbull and Taylor for 4.5 mil combined. Think both are future internationals. I know a few boys associated with Motherwell and all say the lad Turnbull will be real deal. Top player in the making. Same with hastie they reckon he will kick on same as Kent did coming to rangers. Not saying same class yet but same potential.

There is no chance we will get Kent on another years loan. If other clubs are interested in bidding for him, why would Liverpool loan him out when they could potentially get a very good transfer fee, for, let’s be honest, someone who’s never going to break into their 1st team. Our best chance is to get him for a permanent fee, if it’s £5m we’ve a small chance, anything more than that then he isn’t coming to us. Given his farewell at Ibrox last Sunday I’d say he knows himself he isn’t coming back to Rangers.
