if we can sign Ojo for the right wing and kent for the left then the tea is shaping of nicely.
I personally am not in favour of loan deals when we have no chance of signing the player would rather we develop our own players or buy players with potential.
But if it helps us win a league title and a cup then who can argue with our managers choice.
its looking like Middleton Mccorie and hastie could be sent out on loan and this could be good move by gerrard give them game time and allow them to impress and come back better players like docherty did at shrewbusy.

Good decision be the club to send middleton and hastie out on loan. If aribo comes in would send rossiter and docherty back out on loan again also.

Paul86 - so that's at least 4 out on loan (i. e not good enough for first team) presumably we are paying their salaries? Or a big chunk of them.
IF after 3 or 4 years Rossi ter is STILL not first team ready- get rid@
Docherty had a year in England, if he is still not ready to be part of 1st team squad, get rid. Hastie was one bright newcomers in SPL last year, why did we sign him if not to use him. Middleton? ? Needs more than pace to make next step for me.

Docherty should not be put out on loan again i think he has a role to play this season for us.
Middleton and mccorie need game time and that will only benefit them Middleton has showed he can play for us and is good enough just needs more games and is not going get that if we get kent back.
As for hastie he also needs games to kick in on so if we are signing Ojo i guess he will be first pick for right side and candeias and docherty as backup so a long move for hastie is a good move.
as for rossiter he is not getting back in that team ahead of kamara or davis or jack.

Ed, can you shed light on the commitment we make to play loan signings. Do we commit to playing a set number of games or to include in match day squad when fit, or is no guarantee provided to parent club?

Yeah u have a point punt them then. Docherty is not good enough. all current midfielders are all better than him inc mccrorie. Middleton not good enough jones stewart kent ojo are all better. Sell grezda.

Seeing a lot of folk saying Docherty isn’t good enough. Bear in mind the team he was playing in when he first signed was absolute dross. He’ll be much better in a stronger team.

I don’t get this “Docherty isn’t good enough” nonsense. Player of the year in League 1, admittedly a better standard in general than the SPFL. He is on a long term contract for a reason. The lad is highly regarded across Scottish football and I’d think he’ll be a star for us. More games this year and breaking in to be a first pick within a year. Only my opinion but to suggest he isn’t good enough is madness.

If the 5 youngsters that have been mentioned to go out on loan are to be sent out they all must stay in SPL. I would approach motherwell to buy the boy turnbull and give them the pick of the 5 as part of the deal on loan. We need to see these boys playing in our own league to see if they can cut it in our own league.
