Just read an article on news now about an interview the billionaire mccoll did on YouTube . Anyway he says he has been approached recently by the agency that owns liverpool with a view of them buying rangers and using the same strategy as them in buying " young players with world class potential from smaller clubs" used andy Robertson as an example.
Im not saying let them buy us but something we should be looking into. Turned a liverpool team that's not won the league in what 30 years to one that's 25 points clear.

Bellshillad83, yeah i was reading that story also, but i'm sure i read in the story that was then and jim mcoll wasn't getting interested, as he never knew the way the scheme would work out, but maybe there is something in the pipeline, i for one hope so.

He couldn't run a shipyard on the clyde, what chance has he at running a football club ?

Football is a lot different to shipyards. For 1 shipyards were doomed soon as UK had to give navy contracts to Norway. The business strategy works. The company that use it own Liverpool and i think the red sox in states and they are both making profits. I don't think there will be many players at Liverpool worth less than they paid for them.
They sold the young english forward for over 20 million and i think the compensation to chelsea was circa 8 million. Kent also no way did he cost 8 million. Same with coutinho that went to barca. Major profits on all. We should be getting in on that. Granted mot Liverpool profit but couple sales before.

Fair enough Trev no7, but why is McColl talking about our club again when he has no intention to invest! He didn’t want to get involved before so why would he now?

Hes not a trillionare nor a billionaire- he's believed to be worth £800 million.

He wouldn't be buying the club. It would be the sports agency that own Liverpool. I think they have approached mccoll as he is a well documented rangers fan who has in the past attempted to put money into rangers. Was part of consortium that tried to buy us after craig white destroyed us.

Jim McColl is all talk - been threatening to invest for about 20 years and has never put anything in. Don't listen to him.

Trev07, he could run the shipyard, the whole shipyard stuff was more a loss that's to do with the s.n.p. Govmt, they used mccoll as a fall guy, jim mccoll new the script when he got involved with the ship building, it would have been explained to him, me never made a cent of it, or he would have seen his multi millions getting claimed from him, he was a fall guy, but knew that would happen, at clyde.

Now, around the time SG was appointed I had heard the son of George Gillette was rumoured to be putting money into shares of rangers, this was to avoid the dual interest rules ( now maybe this is going to be increased in the coming share issue? ) might have just been made up stuff but after reading this from Mr McColl it could have had something in it.

{Ed001's Note - George Gillett is no longer involved in Liverpool, if that is what you are trying to suggest. FSG bought the club off him and Hicks after a difficult court battle. I very much doubt Gillett would want to get involved with FSG after that.}

Fair enough then i was unaware of the ongoings mate as i say was just a wee snippet i heard a couple years ago. wasn't from anyone in the know or anythibg.

{Ed001's Note - you would really not want Gillett involved anyway. So I hope for your sake it isn't true.}

Mcoll ruined the shipyard he was involved with Clyde Blowers lost about £30million when it went into admin, and just lately some of his main directors have "jumped ship" from the company. The guy is in meltdown and net worth plunging weekly, Trying to blame the Scottish government for attempting to save Scottish jobs is somewhat worrying Mcoll was never ever the fall guy, he and his partners are the blame from start to finish. …. bad design bad work ethic bad all round, he is and always has been a maverick and loudmouth when talking money. ……. investment from him will never happen just as previously,

Rubes, the government wouldn't take over at the shipyard because they knew it would fail, fall guy needed, rules explained to mccoll before he took over, the guy is a multi millionaire, and you are telling me he never knew what he was doing, can i ask you a presonal question? , how many million is in your bank account, i wish i was as daft as mccoll, eh, don't you, oh that's right you drink with him and his friends, lol.
