Wrong site mate 🎣 rumour was that Celtic are 50 mil in debt to the tax man and apparently 100% true even though I just made it up. Strange first ever post if your not one of them and then I apologise.

Nah it was how HRMC overcharged us before we went down supposedly it was only 20 million but they charged us 70 million? it’s amazing how it’s disappeared that is what I’m talking about. Not talking about anything else.

We told them to keep the overcharge of £50 million, Pearcy875, to help towards child poverty and pay for the Tims to furlough their U18's👍😂😂😂.

I remember the rumour. Was of a massive miscalculation of the money we owed HMRC. Was everywhere but like OP has said it just seems to have disappeared with nothing coming out about the outcome.

We made it disappear because we control everything refs, Leagues, media, government, we even control Shane Duffy. Fair play Pearcy if your not one of them but if you did want to know the other page normally has all things Rangers finance. Not sure this isn't the old tax case in a new story.

Pearcy, I'm thinking the rumour was that we had initially been overcharged with HMRC asking for £20mil+, which was why we didn't pay right away as it was a ridiculous amount, but the figure that was finally agreed what we owed became a lower tax amount plus a huge amount of fines for non-payment that brought it back up to the big price. It was a while ago, so I'm possibly wrong. I think HMRC may a pigs arse of it all. We were supposed to be a trial case before they went after clubs who owed much more, but because they ended up with pennies in the pound it all went quiet.

Cheers mate it certainly did go quiet which is bizarre for something like that the thing that annoys me is if this is true then we went down to the third division for nothing as supposedly we could had managed to pay it off in a matter of years. SPFL SFA done no favours also.

Pearcy, this is not like the celtic site mate, the gang on here wait to pounce, you are of course correct about the hard thing, it went quiet mainly i think because there was nothing else to do, hopefully it will never raise its head again, , rightly or wrongly what happened happened, and let's pray that we never go through anything like that again, it was obvious what you were talking about but hey-ho,

I’m on about this this came out in 2019 about how HRMC overcharged us
HMRC have denied claims they overcharged Rangers to the tune of £50million over the EBT scandal.

A report in The Times on Thursday suggested Rangers should only have been charged £20m for the use of EBTs between 2001 and 2010.

The initial figure of £70m was part of the debts that led to the sale of the Ibrox club to Craig Whyte and the eventual downfall of administration and liquidation of the old company.

The amount of tax made no difference to us being put in Div 3, Whyte was running up bills because he was always going to administration to pay off the 20 million approx he borrowed to buy the club

He was not expecting liquidation.
