Report I just read is that rangers have rejected €10m offer from Porto. Have demanded €15m (£13m) this for me is short of what I would accept. Don't know why rangers are going low. At that low a price I would hope for add ons and sell on adding upto over £20m.

Seemed to all change today, his agent was set to meet with Porto representatives this week so I’m worrying has he told them to lowball us and give Alf higher wages or something? Contacts tell me (told me last season too) that the price is £18.75m and that the club has never wavered from that valuation. It could, though, include all expenses and fees, meaning we would net about £14m.

£18.75m would be excellent for us. Does sound a bit ambitious but never know. Sign a replacement and do the same again with him. Need to copy the model of clubs such as Porto, benfica, Ajax . those clubs sign young play them young being onto be top players and sell for Top dollar. That’s got to be the model for us going forward.
Re Patterson John, he’s simply not for sale. he’s going to be worth £20-£25m in a few years time. Can’t blame them for trying lol.

Maybe worth thinking about if the add ons were that we receive 200k for every game he plays in. I'm hoping that someone puts in a good bid for Tav and we can give Patterson the Jersey and he develops for a few years and sell him for a massive profit. If he's this good now just think what he will be like in 5yrs time.

Yeah John totally agree game time I would play Patterson all the cup games, maybe give him the odd home game in the league, basically rotating them but tav still 1st choice. I would then look to sell tav next summer and give Patterson the jersey and a massive increase in wages, obviously he has to earn that 1st next season but I believe that he will do that. I wouldn’t sell tav now. What if Patterson gets a bad injury we’re goosed for a rb?

Some supporters tend to get caught up in the figures and the cash rather than on what would benefit the actual team for instance selling Patterson) . Tavernier is the captain so he won't be dropped, but it's a difficult situation for the manager. I would use the coming season (likely 60 games) and play Patterson in at least 20 of them, gently easing Tavernier (who is currently still the better of the two) towards the door before selling him next year. It could be the solution to a gentle transition.

How do you know that its fabrication coop? Its being reported again today that his agent is over in portugal trying to broker a deal. It was well document throughout the season that Fredo wanted away last summer and that he threw his toys out the pram when he never got his move. Fredo is desperate to leave and will take the huff again if he doesn't get his move. The figures being quoted now are nowhere near what Lille allegedly bid last summer which just reiterates that Lille's bid wasn't a solid 16mil and was infact made up in add ons to 16mil. If it was a solid 16mil he would have been gone. Why are the figures this year so low? Its nothing to do with C. V. Its a fairer reflection of his real value considering his poor performance infront of goal last year. I said that anything between 12-15mil would be good business, people wanting 18-20 mil are being very unrealistic.

As for the Tav/ Paterson debate. Sell Tav. 👍.

Yeah condo I’m thinking the same regarding the Porto deal, just read again today that Porto have wanted him for a few seasons now but we’re working under financial restrictions and salary caps due to wrongdoings in the market. That has now ended. Apparently they will make an official £10m bid next week, rangers want £15-20m so we will see how it develops. Says agent is aware of other suitors aswell.

You don’t know what was offered last year for Alfredo so you can’t say for 100% certain that it wasn’t 16 million that was offered.
