Obv we can’t compete with wages so say he gets offered 5k a week by another club n we offer 2k a week we should be offering him the other 3k a week so 156k a year in a bonus if he hits certain targets would let is compete to keep our best talent and if they don’t turn out we keep the bonus we obv need to try somthing to keep out best young talent.

Notdoubting you john, just find the timing off. Let him Play forcity Thursday then a drive up home Thursday night and he still plays for us the next day. A lot of travelling and game time, and not something I'm sure the sports scientists would be keen on re recovery time.

Ok I bow to other better knowledge Baxter but at16 he was paid 20k, rising to 30k on 17 birthday when he signed first pro contract at Chelsea.
Do u know some unknown kids in championship getting 8k a week, this is to keep them away from premier ship academies, I know one personally, never played full time competitive game in league yet.

Reference young Wilson, he sounds like the type of young player that could walk straight into the first team and do a job, (as with Derek Johnstone many years ago) . Surely if Gerrard considered this an option then we could hold on to the young lad with the guarantee of first team football. What we are now seeing with Gilmour highlights that he would have been a standout in our team both this season and last!
In terms of the transfer possibilities mentioned by John I would love to see Doehki and Ivanic signed in January. I reckon that we will need reinforcements before the summer if we are to win the league this season.
