Storm and others, I'm told there r three serious contenders
Gio
Ferguson D
Neil
There is also a major left field solution which I hopefully get a name very soon.
Appears we want someone in by Monday night.

Cheers John out of those 3 it will hopefully be GVB I would take Ferguson also hopefully neil is not an option and I hope you are right about us wanting the man in by Monday as we can’t mess about with this as we have 2 very important games coming up.

Is that Alex's son, Darren Ferguson, John or did you mean to hit B?
Cheers for the information. In by Monday is great. At least gives the guy a chance to prepare for the semi final. Gio would be my choice.

What’s does Ferguson know about managing? We need a proven manager with a potential long spell at Ibrox. An inexperienced manager wouldn’t last long and then the cycle would have to start again.

Dunc ferg seeker i think.

Interested to hear people’s thoughts on Neil? He’s had decent success and knows the Scottish game.

10.) 12 Nov 2021

Add McInnes to that list.

GVB seems the fav. Personally feel Alex Neil has lots to offer. Knows the Scottish game and looks to be very determined to succeed. Will obviously support whoever is appointed.

Ah big Dunc! Forgot all about him Paul. Might be a good shout 👍.

My understanding from folks in the Liverpool Area is that Duncan Ferguson will stay at Everton. I wouldn't be unhappy if he was to be given the job. He is a no nonsense guy and wouldn't accept second best. I really don't want Neil, I think that would end up costing us and he would be gone by the summer and I don't want to see McInnes name mentioned anywhere near Rangers.
I saw the Southampton Manager's name mentioned yesterday but friends in Southampton tell me that the compensation to Southampton would make that a nonstarter.

I would be cool if left field was Shota!

#56.

Why dose it have to be an ex player? I know nothing about Duncan Ferguson since he stopped playing, I think Alex Neil is a decent guy don’t think he’s going to fit our squad so from that list it would definitely be Gio for me! Needs to be handled asap tho cause Celtic will have there tails up over all this whole debacle.

I'm struggling to see what success either Neil or McInnes have had in management. From what I have seen they have both failed at Mediocre Teams down South and McInnes has done nothing at Aberdeen - even when we were not in the League!

My top 3 choices would be:

1. Gio Van Bronckhorst - Tjere is the obvious Rangers link there but I don't think that's too important. I think he showed at Feyenoord that he is a top class manager.

2. Dean Smith - Some might laugh at this but Dean Smith is a top coach. He did superbly on a small budget at Brentford and I thought he was doing well at Villa. All his players love him and if we can get a manager that brings the squad together after a bit of turmoil that can only be a good thing.

3. Callum Davidson - It's probably too early for him and I would worry about his ability to attract players but there's no doubting the great job he is doing at St Johnstone. I can see him managing Rangers in the future but this is probably too soon.
