Is there any truth Rangers may receive a substantial fine for pulling out the Oz tournament ?

If you believe the Record they are being sued for Breach of Contract. If we end up having to pay out on this then Parks should be sacked as should the CEO. The buck stops with them!

If true BerkshireBlue I'm afraid it's the narrow minded protesting fans that should shoulder the blame. 4m in the pocket to potential owing money. Unreal.

A fine from who?

5.) 02 Apr 2022

@john sadly not, a contract was signed and Rangers believe they've found a loophole to exit from. But if it was a signed deal, what possibly loophole to exit from have they used that won't uncur a penalty. You can't just walk away from a contract without cost.

Have we got any feet left to shoot?

If that's the case we don't pull out then.

Not seen anything on rumour but this was bound to happen. Certainly looks like we could be done for breach of contract and thought statement for pulling out seemed really flimsy.

We will not face any court action or have to pay any compensation for withdrawing from that non-event as the company who organised it did not pay Rangers the initial £250,000 due on 17/ 03/ 2022 due to a financial backer for the tournament pulling out and the funds not being available so it would be them that are in breach of contract hence there is nothing coming out from them on the subject, only the gutter press with their rumours . A timely withdrawal from Rangers was mutually beneficial to both sides.

When the truth comes out and if it could be possible we could face a fine, you will soon see the manks sue us for loss of earnings just to put the boot into us and cause us more financial hardship.

It is no secret they (and some others) want Rangers out of Scottish football in order they can walk the domestic leagues unchallenged.

Just a thought to "bear" in mind. (pun) .

👿 👿 👿.

Greg great post but some people don’t even want to consider it and would rather best the club with a stick . Ah well I suppose it takes all sorts .
Great post though and factual I believe.

100% factual Molsgoals, the same as when i posted on 9th November that Steven Gerrard was having a 17.30 meeting in a London Hotel to discuss the terms for the Aston Villa job, i got slated for that information but that was also factual as everyone became aware of 24 hours later, we will hear no more about the Australian business unless it is from the Gutter Press .

Good info Gregory202 sometimes we don't hear the facts. Personally I would have been for Rangers to play them in Oz for a decent payday. My opinion only as money dictates our game now, on the other hand I do appreciate fans who get annoyed with the board for accepting the invite. We will never be acceptable to the green side as it is always a religious/ political fight with them.
The big issue is how we unite our own fans and board, you will never please all the people all the time. Different backgrounds, different age groups, differing outlooks. Our hardcore fans don't always get the business decisions the board make. Also the board don't always get the fans passion. Just hope each side don't get too stubborn that we all lose like the past. Stay safe Bears.

If the board thought there would be no backlash and didn't put in an escape clause to Oz friendly it just shows how inept they are. Should not be in charge of the club in my opinion the minute they start making rangers enemies because of league sponsor the season was always going smelltics way. Spl done all they can to help them and hinder us along with the media with the penalty stuff.

Rangers will face no action re the Australian withdrawal, the two bob organisers are relieved that they are not facing court action from Rangers as i am led to believe they did not have sufficient funds in place before announcing it and were basically doing a “craig whyte” sadly enough and the investment group who were going to underwrite the whole shebang pulled the plug upon finding out that the two principals were next to potless, similar to the Whyte situation except we didn't find out quick enough to stop that shyster -! it will be interesting to see if any type of tournament at all takes place in Australia - 🇬🇧🇬🇧.

John, reference Shareholders that are also on the Board and are Employyees of the Club surely it depends on the Terms of the Agreements that are in place. In Business it is normal process for the Shareholder Agreement and the Employment Contract as aBoard Member to be separate so that if they are not doing their job as they should then they can be removed.
I appreciate that it won't be easy with some of the Shareholders because of their holding but if they are not doing their job properly then it is incumbent on the CEO to take action. Of course that supposes that the CEO is strong enough to do so.
Of course as far as the PR Director and DoF are concerned, since they are not shareholders it would be much easier to remove them.
It is going to be an interesting 2022 / 2023.

Dof is definitely a shareholder
All board members own multiple shares worth millions.
What shareholderson the board do u refer to do u refer to Berkshire that r employees
Do you mean park, park, wolthardt halstead Gibson king leatham etc.

John, principally Park Jnr., but he might not be a shareholder. I didn't think that Wilson was a shareholder unless, like with other Corporations it forms part of his annual compensation, but that would be the two that I would want to see go and I have concerns regarding our Chairman's commitment to the Club given his other Business Interests, (ie his Motor Dealership Business etc) .
I would love to see Gibson, Wolhaardt, and I do wonder whether Gibson would have an interest in further investment in the Club.
