Does tonight's result affect any plans PC has to bring in players?

1.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 00:54:48
Of course it does.

2.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 02:27:12
We are a poor side at the moment and anyone who thinks otherwise has their head planted up their backside.
We are not a lost cause just yet as I’m a believer that there is a solution to most problems but it’s very difficult to see what that solution is at the moment!
Fair play to Kiev for coming here and getting the result but they are very much an ordinary outfit… I hate to say it but I am absolutely dreading the first OF game in a couple weeks!

3.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 02:56:35
The mess we are in is Years of our own making rather than build for the long long term we looked at getting success ASAP on the pitch and off the field.

4.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 04:54:56
I don’t care what the board plans are they need changed as we need 4/ 5 players in pronto or this could be the worst year since 2012.

5.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 05:09:19
But it wasn’t fair play!

6.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 07:00:09
Fair play or not we don’t have a team at the moment .

We have no money, even less now . Long winter ahead .

7.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 08:01:03
Fair enough we are rather poor and it is clearly the formation/ tactics that do not work. It doesn’t really work in the league and it definitely doesn’t work in Europe, especially with the squad we have

However, anyone that tries to say we weren’t cheated last night by a dodgy ref and an opponent that only wanted to dive and roll around the pitch all game needs to take their heads out their backside.
Pure corruption and it was blatantly obvious. (Still raging)

8.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 08:02:27
It has a massive affect on our budget.
We're walking into a complete shambles of a season.
Top to bottom We're in a mess and see no end in sight.
This is not a rebuild
If anything we look worse of than last season.
Only positive we have is barron and cerny.

9.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 08:05:55
We budgeted for playing Europa league as we do every year.

10.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 08:13:00
Dessers was absolutely rotten last night in my opinion but I did hear that Cammy Bell said he had a good game on commentary!

Can't defend and can't score.
Two massive 'puzzles' for Clement.

11.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 08:33:12
Dessers was rotten last night, one of his best link up performances for us crcp, I'm must been watching a different performance from you man.

12.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 08:38:49
We are a 10 another 6 and a RB off a decent side and a bonus would be dessers out and 1 in up top…. we are also a Connor Barron injury away from an apocalypse.

13.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 08:44:06
Dessers grafted last night but he can't do it all on his own, so let's not listen to the Cosgrove / Shankland groupies as they wouldn't do it on their own either.

14.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 08:48:18
It’s a catalogue of failure over a number of years, where the proposed solution becomes part of the problem.

Fans (quite rightfully) demand success, and those demands have prompted changes in managerial appointments and changes in the boardroom, but such a model works temporarily, only proving to take us forward one step and back 2.

It’s tough but we need to look at a medium to long term rebuild, which means more pain before we see progress. Our club culture is in danger of becoming toxic and a place where players we would wish to see in a blue jersey will give us a wide berth making the recruitment teams job impossible.

I empathise with Clement, there is no quick fix, and I admire his attitude and desire to stick around and stand strong, determined to make a difference and rebuild our great club, in the knowledge that there are easier jobs out there and he’s damned if he does or damned if he doesn’t by a support that’s totally disconnected from the difficult project of rebuilding a world class football club on the backdrop of financially having both legs tied together in a sport that we can no longer compete in at the highest level.

Our priority must be to challenge for domestic success, which in itself becomes a bigger gap to close as each season passes. That in itself is an enormous challenge in light of the financial disparity between them and us, but we must find a way, and one which is sustainable.

Spot on Moff?.

16.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 09:30:20
Dessers got no service it’s just nonsense to say he was rotten.

17.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 09:37:20
Very good and sensible post Bearsbear.

18.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 09:54:32
He must be the only striker who needs 4 touches of the ball in the box before he even thinks about a shot.

19.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 09:57:13
Totally agree BB at least some are seeing the real picture here and not a knee jerk.

20.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 10:04:50
Well said Bearsbear ; we need patience and stability this is not a one window rebuild it will take two or three financially we’re miles behind and all this if we get beat in first OF game PC must go is crap they have a better team more money and changing a manager will not change the situation we are in, as for Dessers I thought he played well last night his hold up play was great our problem for me is we don’t creat enough from midfield Lawrence is not the answer for me to slow but good midfielders cost money which we don’t have we need to get rid of the deadwood on extortionate wages and bring in fresh blood.

21.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 10:05:38
I thought dessers was decent last night. Ball got cought under his feet on 3 occasions when he could’ve got a 1st time shot off and had a chance of score ing. Work rate hold up and effort was good though.

22.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 09:59:41
Dessers grafting doesn't make up for his inability to hold the ball up, make simple passes, convert his high glaring rate of chances to goals.

23.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 10:25:53
Yes the sending off was a turning point but how many fans sitting confident we'd win 11 v 11? We were just OK but I was hopeful watching we'd go through and I have to say most iv spoke to weren't sitting confidently expecting a win. We've became a joke where radio stations are debating whether ir nit we should be considered a big club we've a board who saved the club but have no idea how to take us forward all the while protecting there investments and rightly so but is it true they've refused offers from others to invest in our club, we've tied a manager down on a lucrative contract that's recently been extended but have asked him to do a job with 1 hand tied behind his back we've somehow got a squad that looks weaker than the one that ended last season and that's after 8/ 9 signings and to top it all we have to play our home games away from ibrox to a less than full hampden with no idea when we can go back to ibrox. All in all we've ended up. potentially further behind the other mob than we we, ve been in years and I see no quick fix and if we re not careful will end up trying to stop them winning 10 iar.

24.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 10:33:30
King Dessers played a couple of cracking through balls last night man, you must have been at the toilet.

25.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 10:43:12
Dessers seems to stay fit and is a decent team
player. We need an additional striker for the squad, we don't need rid of Dessers. Danilo, I'm not so sure.

26.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 10:43:21
First time poster here.
Regarding the game last night, the ref was blinded by the cheating. One touch and they were rolling around like they had been shot. It was never a red card and this ref should never be involved in any European game again.
Has anyone noticed Butland cannot save a low ball to his left or right?

27.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 10:48:56
Bearsbear

Couldn’t agree more. At least PC has the balls to attempt change!

His model plan is to sign young and dynamic players that can make the club money. Well these young guys are getting pilloried 4 games into a season!

To think last year that there were fans calling for senior players to be dropped in favour of our youngsters. Can you imagine the detrimental effect it would have on these young shoulders from the toxicity of impatient fans?!

We could of course just sack PC and bring in another manager and hand him millions to purchase some duds again then return to this game plan again in a few years when it may be too late for us as a club?

28.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 11:01:58
Agree with a few posters above, Dessers before we went to 10 men had a decent game, his hold up play declined when the support around him faded. Remmeber one attack in particular first half where he played an outstanding flick to play McCausland in and with more quality out wide we create a goalscoring opportunity from it.

I Like Clement and it is clear we are worse off than most of us expected but my only worry are his subs, Lawrence costs us the first goal and I have no idea why he isn't the first player off after the red.

29.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 11:52:41
Firstly, Dessers is crap, lovely lad and all but runs about like a headless chicken most of the time and yes he doesn't have a second striker to bounce off of but even when given decent chances he fluffs them or wants to turn the defender 2 or 3 times before ever looking to shoot and when he does shoot he basically aims for the keeper and yes had a couple of decent passes but the rest of the time he was stumbling over the ball or falling over.
I must be difficult for the other players knowing that even if they give Dessers a good chance he will more than likely miss it.

Secondly, the ref was a cheat (likely paid off or told by UEFA to help the Ukrainian team) and the Kiev players were diving about constantly. And the red card played a massive factor in the result. The first yellow was not even a yellow and then to get booked for a clean jump for the ball is insane.

Thirdly, PC seemed good in the beginning but he plays almost the exact same way as Beale did in the same formation.
Yes making a half time sub is fine and all but these players obviously cannot play to the system he is asking and therefore we will struggle so much this season.

Lastly, i was one of the fans calling for more youngster to be played last season, the fans would know the situation and that the frst team players aren't good enough so there would be considerable slack given to the youngsters. Fraser and Mckinnon got some game time and looked decent. McCausalnd has fell off a wee bit but he's been around the first team a while now.

Its going to be a hard to watch season i think unless something drastically changes but with the likes of Dessers, Tav, Wright, Lawrence and others, i do not see us winning much. We will beat up on a few of the pub teams as usual and fans will get hopeful just to then be let down again and again.
Hopefully we can get through. (Sorry for the long rant lol)

30.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 11:53:58
We cannot afford better than Dessers, he only needs support it's the set up at fault not him . Beloved Shankland would have been breathing through his arse after an hour and got carried off to hospital.

We can now also desist with the Miovski guff so that's good.

Get Sima ask one of the many directors to risk some dough of their own without guarantee of profit for them or get Ron and Reg back because they ain't skint and have the bottle to risk personal wealth. Every one of the type we have had are grifters on a free hurl even well before the king of grifters . Murray.

31.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 11:57:32
Before i get started, anybody think we'd have done them last night if playing at Ibrox?
Can anybody really understand why McCausland got hooked?
Surely he was causing their back 4 more hassle than Jefte who really should've been subbed instead. As for Dessers / Lawrance, i don't see either of them giving us what we need.
Dessers havin' a go at us because we booed when he couldn't hold the ball up, is he for real?
What's wrong with Danilo, on the bench but not given a chance in any games. If Dessers is our best CF then we're dead in the water.
Totally frustrated with things at the moment and don't see anything changin soon.

32.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 12:49:21
Let the O'Bogtrotters get pumped rotten in the CL we must avoid that for a wee while I think . Let's enjoy McGregor getting dizzy and screwed in to the ground and project Brendan slabbering utter nonsense whilst hoping for the beautiful Watford job .

33.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 13:02:41
Would be refreshing to have some on here offer positive feedback. Insulting individual players, calling a manager (who has won trophies in multiple countries) clueless is a cheap shot.
Fine, there are better players in the world than Dessers, but where do you think they are for €4m (who also press and do the job PC wants) . Fine Lawrence is not a natural no.10 but when our other options want to leave or play simply to trigger a pay rise what is PC to do.
His 4-2-3-1 does require players with energy who can press, support and get back. The fact we are having to ‘fit’ players is simply a facet of life. Coupled with a few very unfortunate injuries our squad is paper thin.
Like all I desperately want us to improve and win but we need to understand the limits of where we are.

34.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 13:09:54
Anyone who thinks mccasuland is a good player really has no clue. Same as the guys wanting Clemente binned absolutely no idea what so ever about football.
Dessers was isolated like a lot of our strikers have been for years particularly as park head the inability for us too have two good wingers on the park at the same time and a creative midfielder who can get numbers ( goals and assists ) is the reason we’ve won 3 trophy’s in 12 years. Souttar isn’t a starter either. A right back is a must take the load of games off tav and you get a better player or better yet play him in midfield think he’d thrive in the middle of the park. Butland just doesn’t seem the same this year. Still very good but last year he was top class maybe just a dip in form.

35.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 13:17:37
The hate for Dessers is ridiculous, some of them balls folk were jeering at him for not holding up, some of the best strikers in the world would struggle with. Had to sit with some absolute walloper behind me screaming every profanity under the sun from minute 1. Some fans want to hate and be angry to make up for their absolutely miserable existences. The amount of man babies in our support who have absolutely no emotional control is astounding. Get a grip you weirdos. Come back to reality. We're miles behind and have no money. Changing the manager just makes that worse. The lack of awareness and grounding in actual reality of the situation we are in is mind blowing. The negative energy put out from the stands is detrimental and will trap us in a loop we'll never get out of. It's always the loudest idiots that'll leave at 75 minutes then wonder why the performance drops off in the last 15 mins. It's infuriating.

36.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 13:29:27
Clement got us into league contention and into the last 16 of the Europa League last season with a squad of players inherited from S. G/ GVB and Beale. He got results out of them that we did not expect but fell flat at the end of the season. Everybody wanted massive change, well he is doing that, Barisic, Goldson, Lundstram, Jack and Roofe all gone, Cantwell to be on his way soon and I`m pretty sure there are at least 4 others he would get shot of, if anybody wanted them. Its early to decide on the new signings, Barron and Cerny look good, not sure yet about Jefte and Propper . Cortes looks promising but is injured and Nsiala and Igamane are there to be developed. Changes are happening but it can`t all be done at once. The board need to back him now to sign three or four first team players, they don`t need to be Champions League level but they do need to improve us enough to win games and have a go at the title .

37.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 13:32:13
Dessers worked his a££ off last night. Yes, he can be frustrating because of his delay in getting a shot off, but he can get goals and is capable of an exceptional through ball.

I understand people saying we need better, but I don’t see anyone better beating the door down to play in the Scottish league.

As De Boer said last year, Dessers is a confidence player. As fans, we need to do everything we can to keep his confidence high even when he trips over the ball or takes a bad touch.

Getting on his case won’t make him play better.

38.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 13:35:40
I’m sure we understand the concept ‘form is temporary - class is permanent’ but confidence (in every elite sport) is Essential. Having spent 30 years in the game I know from personal experience Confidence comes from the management, team mates and of course the fans.

As it stands 2 out of 3 (at least) of these are broken. Its clear that there is a nucleus of players within our dressing/ training room breading negativity, those who are decided to leave, those who are burned out, those who would love to play but are injured - leaving a small core of players who can actually perform at their true potential.

Then there is the fan base. Again we are tired of seeing the same repetition of failure and now vent our frustration at our own team and management - booing at half time and full time 4 games in to the season.

Our manager (at least on the face of it) shows great resilience and resolve in the heat of the circumstances . He must wonder if his luck will change - just today he will have to find a new solution at LB on top of replacing Cortes at LW, and that’s just an add on to finding a starting No 6, 10, striker, potentially a RB and a Centre half ——- oh and he needs to do that in 2 weeks with very little funds while putting out a teams competing in 3 competitions before most other managers have to play their first competitive game.

39.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 14:25:41
Dessers flatters to deceive, yes he ran about to close down but he was shocking round the box last night, a think I would of got a shot away when he couldn’t and his hold up play when we needed it was non existent, when he chested the ball forward when not a Rangers player near him was schoolboy stuff and then turned on fans because we groaned, a hope he has had enough of us because even with his twenty plus goals I would sell and reinvest, turning 30 you will get hee haw next season, just another who will not leave because of the wage tho.

40.) 14 Aug 2024
14 Aug 2024 16:26:49
Bb you make it sound like PC is doing us a favour hanging around. He's handsomely paid and wouldn't get the same salary unless it was a top 6 league imo and whilst I back him he himself has to be more careful. If as rumoured he isolated a lot of players towards end of last season that poss cost us a league if true and his stubborn refusal to switch formation when it's clear our midfield 2 are continually out numbered will cost us against better teams also who prioritised ingahmane for 1.5m when we need guys ready to go in and contribute now who's continually playing tav when we have poss better in sterling on the bench or won't give a 6m striker any mins leaving is with 1 fit mat h ready striker who many think isn't good enough my point being PC has to take his share for where we are and managing glasgow rangers should be an honour not done as afavour.

41.) 14 Aug 2024

Shocking around the box, did you watch it on the radio? there was nothing but the odd blooter in to the box a circus act of the highest quality could not have controlled, animal or human occasionaly Lawrence fell over a few then toot toot oot the road here I come Matondo fell over a few more. It's no Dessers that's the problem it's a few others.
