Ok guys what's all our thoughts on the news yesterday that our billionaire american director john halstead is contemplating investing more of his money into our club ?I think it's very encouraging we have a guy with his wealth on board and wonder if he's pushing to possibly takeover our club as the majority shareholder/ owner ? Something most definitely needs to happen for the future within our board ?.

Halstead, Gibson, Wolthard have been mentioned on here for a while now Walter, would be nice to start to see the wheels in motion bud?.

They better hurry up! Right now we find ourselves righr back in a massive hole, and sinking fast! So, if this is true, they need to be a million times better prepared, and equipped, than the last lot - because there's a helluva lot needed, and demanded, to fix this sinking ship.

Sunshine as a layman we look to be in a better position than we have been previously with the 8mil gone from wages. I'd say we look better going forward anyway. Think we can see why the wage bill has been cut now.

Agree Rangers56. Most of the wages savings aren't on these accounts. Record turnover with virtually no player sales as well. The losses sound monumental but if the shareholders are comfortable covering it then it's not essentially a problem. Next year's accounts will make better reading.

Let's be honest here, It's not as if I need to do anything to sound the alarm bells, our incompetent board have laid all the groundwork for that themselves.
I love the way some on here make it sound so nonchalant! Aye, 17.2m losses is nothing, so move along. If this was the tims, these same posters would be all over it like a bad rash. No wonder the tims call us 'zombies'! Blind loyalty will never get us anywhere!

Correct bud?, nothing to see here, move along.

John u hearing if there is any movement re:- investment bud, cheers?.

So next year will be better, yes the losses will be smaller but we've made a saving of 8 million a year on wages but losses of 17m plus.
So if nothing changes still a loss next year of 9 million.
Not sustainable.

Read today there will be loans from share holders totalling 13m.

Not just that Jfm. Posters are talking about selling players to plug the loss, but where does that leave us? It means our better players are away, and if we replace them, it will need to be with free transfers or it just becomes a vicious circle if we need to spend money on players.
I really don't know how anyone can post "we look to be in a better position than we have been previously?! How can a position of a 17.2m loss be better than a a profit of 252k last year, and one of 5.9m the year before that? There is now a swing of 23.1m from the year we posted our biggest profit in God knows how many years. The greatest of spin masters couldn't spin that to be positive.

£15M of the £17M is litigation payments and loan returns. £2M net loss will get covered by those wage reductions next financial year report. The loans are put back in again, covered by our main board members investors. We need both King and Park willing to allow a new majority share holder to take a controlling share by investing a considerable amount of monies. This includes buying those extra shares to obtain that controlling position. FFP, if I'm not mistaken would allow investment in the region of £60M, 70% of our annual revenue.

Depends on if we sell anyone and how deep into Europe we go. If we keep Clement there won't be pay offs of managers to go in it. Won't be payments to end the court case we had with Elite/ Hummel. We really need to qualify for the champions league. Unfortunately can't see that happening.

Good post Jasper, the first time in a very long period where Rangers are heading in the correct direction.

30 Oct 2024 12:26:38
????? How does that even make sense, My star? "The first time in a very long period where Rangers are heading in the correct direction"! From where? Posting profits over the last 2 years! Champions league qualification a couple of seasons back! EL Finalists 3 seasons back! League winners 4 seasons back! To where we are now?! 17.2m in losses! Sitting 3rd in league! CL failure! Not beat the tims in meaningful league game in years! Not won the league in 3 seasons! Failed player trading model! I could go on.
I think you better get your map out again, My star, because if this is us "heading in the correct position", I think somebody has taken a wrong turn! Unbelievable! ???.

Heading in the right direction sunshine, not even remotely interested is what leaves you mouth mate?.

Done that all by yourself sunshine, with all the nonsense you spotted about things which never left Clement mouth.

There are only two ways that a guy like Halstead can increase his shareholding . Buy out an existing share holder, Parks or King or whoever but then the money goes to them not the club or another share issue in which he buys up the increased number of shares then the money will go to the cub but I think the existing shareholders need to vote for this as it potentially decreases their shareholding. If this is going to happen we will hear about it in advance.
Unlike some I don`t feel comfortable with a £17 million loss especially as it was only £250,000 last year I think, I could be wrong though. We were stabilising after the charlatans years but we seem to have dropped way back again and it seems to be off the back of poor player trading by Wilson and Beale mainly. Hope the shareholders ask the difficult questions at the AGM .
