Am not into polls so just rather a discussion does anyone on here think we actually have a chance of winning the league this season?

In my opinion we don’t as I think they are that far in front of us.

Agree about them being further ahead than us, like u I can't see it bud, would like it, but think we need to get ourselves firing first.

I just look to last season. We were in a far worse position at this point in the season with arguably no stronger a squad and we took it down to the last couple of weeks. Celtic will drop points so everything is possible.

I know it's not as clean cut as this - but if we'd win our home games against them last season and the previous season we'd theoretically win the leagues

Think this year will be the same, and I think we can do it.

Not a chance. 15-20 Points if we are lucky. The club has zero ambition and prioritise all the wrong things. Cerny is costing 3 million for a full season with fee's and wages rather than buy Lennon Million. There were far far better wingers out there for a fraction of that cost. We could have got rid of Dessers but he will be our striker for the next 3 seasons now. As i said before, Tom Lawrence will get a new contract after spending 2 years on the treatment table.

Just have to keep winning until the next OF game and then we will see . They have got off to a flier but no team keeps that going all season It would have been nice to sign Lennon Miller ( yes that his name not Lennon Million) but its a stupid argument to say we should have done that rather than Cerny. We needed a wide player as a priority and if that was all the money we had and we could only sign one, then we did the right thing.

Hope I’m wrong but the major difference that will catch up with us compared to them is that we’re playing 90 mins plus every game because the games aren’t killed off. They’re done in the first half usually so in the long run our fitness and mental focus will fatigue. Add to the fact that we don’t have a lot of quality depth and I struggle to see us winning it. But John is correct of the front line can start chipping in with more goals then we’ve got a chance. Oh and we need to actually beat them as well.

This is How clueless PC is, he chose cortez over Sima and Sima waited all summer for for to sign him. Sima has just scored his 3rd Champions League goal of the season, i'll bet Dessers doesn't score 3 goals in the Europa League this season.

No I don't! For us to do that, we need to start doing something we haven't been able to do for years, and that's beat them in a meaningful league game. We would need to beat them twice at home, and get no worse than a draw at the midden, but unfortunately, we have been nowhere near being able to do that.

We need to be able to put out a team against them with everyone posting minimum 8/ 10`s no passengers.
This side has plenty of legs with an average age of just under 25 but still a good blend of youth and experience.

The champions league can take them off the rails like it did to us a couple seasons ago. A few bad results in a short period of time can really impact the momentum.

Everything is possible. We are actually 2 points better off than we were at this point last season and so are Celtic (they drew against St Johnstone). we have the same record in that round of the ECL as last season (1 draw and 1 loss) and same number of points in EL. we have scored 1 goal more in league but conceded 2 more (to Celtic).

Cerny has scored as many goals as Sima had at this point and Dessers has scored 7 in total and 3 in league when he had scored only 1 last season. We both have to play Aberdeen in the next 5 games but they also have Motherwell in top 6 away and our only other top 6 fixture is St Mirren at home.

There have only been 4 unbeaten teams in a season in Scottish top league and only one (us) have ever gone without losing a point and that was us in 1898-99 and that was an 18 games season. so the chances of them going without losing a point is statistically very low. So win our home OF games and we are 1 ahead; they win theirs and they are 2 in front. Not a huge gap.

so we are sh*t poor according to lots of people but not not any worse off than at this point last season. they are not used to Europe so there is always hope.
BTW they are 3-1 down to Dortmund after 31 minutes. Did we not beat them with what was probably considered by many on here as a poor team.

BTW Jorge Sima wanted ECL football and I was watching the first half and he missed a sitter, which would never do as a Rangers player.

We won’t win the league, bottom line is they have better players than us where it matters up front. Kyogo And Maeda regularly put us to the sword. We persist with Tavernier v Maeda and it costs us in virtually every old firm game.

@davie1980 Dons have to play us, Celtic, Utd and Hearts this month. let's see at end of that where they are. Not saying they won't be still 2nd but that run of fixtures will tell us more I think.
