Former Rangers manager Walter Smith says it is hard to judge Ally McCoist as a manager because of the turmoil that existed while he was in charge at Ibrox, and believes McCoist deserves a chance to show what he can do at a stable club.

Aye, very good Walter, have you considered a career as a stand up?

Agree mate,3 years with a budget twenty times that of your opponents combined is nowhere near long enough to be judged on. geez a break Wattie. he was your pupil,we know, but he was murder, and you should just keep your own counsel. can't see Ally getting another manager's job. certainly not one that pays 800k a year!

Who would ever employ McCoist as a manager?! he had his chance and turned us over, he is a terrible manager but worse than that you can't believe a word he says. He is where he deserves to be, in the wilderness unfortunately he is there with several million pounds of Rangers money. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Let him go to a stable club, one with horses in it,at least he'll have plenty a manure for his flowers.
