Please say this is a wind up Ashley coming back? Whether is the right man to take us forward or not Ashley certainly isn't he has proved that already surely people don't believe he is good for this club, his interests are in Newcastle he is about to get them promoted and get premier league money back

I know this will be a unpopular post but just opinion, I would rather have a wealthy Ashley, that could bankroll the type of transfers needed to stop 10 in a row . Than anonymous King who barely has spent. And living off soft loans like we're on the dole.

We could at least get a nomad again. We're stuck with him anyway at least this way we could have a chance of stopping 10 in a row. This Rangers team and board is unbareable.

If he could maybe re- evelute the merchandise deal as a sign of goodwill and really give us a transfer kitty.
Then I would rather have him. He just doesn't want to work with King, which I can't really see what he does or brings to the table?

Again this is just a alternative opinion.

I do understand people wanting someone different but that man was poison all you have to do is look at Newcastle he has no interest in the club only in his own pocket, I live down south and the amount of Newcastle fans that were begging Ashley to leave and buy into us was embarrassing, I'm not saying king is the man to save us but I do believe he is better than the man who kicked us while we were down and took advantage of us when we needed help just my opinion on it

It wouldn't have to be Ashley, but I just don't think it should be king either, King stating that he has spent vast amounts like 18 million I think he said.

I'm sorry but 18 million is not enough, even if true!
He needs to sell us on to someone with some clout or my worst fears will come true and we're going to struggle for years!

Yeah I don't think king has any intention of being a long term owner of rangers from what I read about kings takeover was he wanted to take control of the club and over 4 years invest 30 million to sort the club out then sell us on to investors he did say at the agm that he has experienced problems that were unexpected and things has cost more than expected I. e the details of the Ashley contracts, repairs to Murray park and probably other things I wouldn't even begin to understand
I do think king is trying to help but can also understand the counter arguments against him, just think this link with Ashley is another embarrassing story for us to be mocked and ridiculed about

Good point, what is kings long term plan?
I don't believe neither him or the other directors at this moment have the cash to take us were we need to be!

I mean he has been in since 2015 - and tbh I have been completely underwhelmed.
And worried more than anything . The first team are so poor they can barely compete with Aberdeen never mind Celtic.
And I bet the transfers in the summer will either be free transfers or bargain basement stuff. And if we won't a competitive team we're going to have spend a few quid especially on 2 decent defenders.

I thought Ashley couldn't own more than 10 percent of the shares? Did the SFA not rule on that?

He is maybe the only option. bringing in a new manager and a DOF won't make up a 33 point difference. The club needs serious investment or wait 5 years to build from the bottom up. In that time Celtic will have made 100mill in profits and be out of sight. Everyone has a choice. Back Ashley or stick with King. Stop hoping that a new manager is the answer. Need to start with a new board of directors then the rest will follow.

If he owns the club and bankrolls transfers etc he can do what he likes with the merchandising deal. The merchandising deal on its own isn't significant enough to fund what Rangers need. Needs significantly more than that.

Jeseca by the sounds of it if Craig Whyte offered money you would take it.
This man has raped rangers for money and you would take him back?

From what I have read might be wrong or someone may know better but from what I read king plans on stabilising the club getting rid of people who have damaged the club (Ashley) and then when we are stabilised selling majority shares to someone who can offer "heavy investment"

I think Celtic went through a time like this aswell thou where they weren't spending money on players to try compete with us but they built the sorta structure they have now

I do agree the gap between us and them is unacceptable but it is expected maybe not by this much but let's remember warburton did bring in 11 players and almost all weren't suited to the way he wanted to play football and haven't cut the mustard when given a chance

Haliday was pushed as mr rangers and unfortunately he isn't good enough to fill that role I wish he was think he has the passion to be that man but not the ability

Ashley won't bankroll anything, all this saying he will put 30mill + 30 mill into the club is nonsense
he just turns it into club debt and makes it look like he's the one spending.
newcastle are in an obscene amount of debt but because it looks like he's taken it on its not.
they will get 100mill for promotion and better coverage of his brand and the same will go for us. he'll use us for a marketing tool and no more.
hes looking if he gets full control that people will now buy the merchandise as it looks like he's now intrested in us.
50,000 + supporters buying tops/ kits. etc = millions all for him

Stunngun all I'm saying is we need serious cash, of course it matters who it is and the conditions of there actions.
But King has not put up yet, when he said he would.
And at a time when we're looking for something positive to grab on too. I fear we're just to far behind now.
We need money, more than a supposed poxy -18 million.
You actually think that's going to go anywhere, make us better. Challenging for titles. NO, NO NO
