A lack of application and effort is the worst thing which can be levelled at a pro footballer. We have a team full of this. I have run out of adjectives to describe this squad of players. The weight of the jersey is too much for all of them. A mass cull is needed yet again. I would keep very few of them. A full new team is required. Arfield and McGregor are a good start but we need at least another 7 or 8 quality players. I would play the fringe and young players on Saturday. With the exception of the keeper not one player who yet again on Sunday should play on Saturday.

I disagree Stevie, there are some decent players in our squad, that could do a job for us, and if organised correctly could do a turn for us.
I would put Jimmy Nicholl in charge and tell Murty to have a break to the end of the season. I would go for a straight 4-4-2, with Morelos and Cummings upfront. The middle 4 would be Candeias, Docherty, Dorrans and Murphy. The back 4 is where the problem starts, but for discussion I will say Tavernier, McCrorie and two others. Goalkeeper Alnwick.
Bring in a manager/ coach and sort out the defence and we will not be far from being a decent team, next season.
The biggest thing that must be asked is what clown signed the players and why the imbalance in signings for positions where we are very, very WEAK.

Dorrans did you watch yesterdays game. I'd put him on the first bus going south and Martin can carry his bags

Agreed billyb. Clearly some of our players are not of the he calibre required and will need to be moved on. However, I remain convinced that we need the right manager in place to get the best out of what is left. If Rangers and Celtic are both on top of their game and play each other, there is no way that there is a 5 goal difference. Celtic played very well yesterday and Rangers were utterly shocking - again. The psychology within the squad is deeply wrong.

If McInnes, Clarke, Rogers, Wright, Levien or Lennon was in charge of that squad, we’d be second with some distance between us and the rest. Pedro was clearly appalling and the players reacted to Murty initially but it’s then gone downhill.

Whether it’s Gerrard or not, whoever comes in has a core of players, predominantly midfielders who I think can do a job - they need managed and they need to gain self-belief.
