Cheers up Steve Clarke was being sung you would have to think it’s about time the garbage was stopped
As my old papa said to me when he gave me a Rangers scarf
Never disgrace these colours and they will never disgrace you.
Why do some morons drag our club down
Yes we are a unionist club, yes we have a strong Protestant history but it time for tolerance and respect for others
That’s what being a Protestant is about respect and tolerance of others
FFS move on.

Well said William. it's totally embarrassing. We know Celtic do the same thing but we can't control that. We can control Rangers fans. Why can't we sing songs without being secterian. We have a fabulous support. Don't embarrass us.

It does need to stop before we are held accountable. Applies to other teams as well - last week the Killie fans were singing "go home ya h&ns" and we all know about the Boyd abuse. Clarke fails to mention these mind you. Personally I think the Blue Order do need a better song book. hardly ever hear them singing follow follow or every other Saturday for example.

What happened to Clarke was shocking however was he as vocal about it on Sunday after one of his players was abused by the Celtic support?

We don’t need to give others the opportunity to target the club by having a minority of the fans still singing these songs. Would like supporters clubs also coming out and condemning this behaviour. We love our club and the majority of supporters follow the club without participating in this behaviour. let's move forward. let's not make ourself easy targets. Yes, other clubs do similar things but that does not make it right. I know a lot of people who will not take children to games because of this type of thing.

Well said William, I come from a country that death followed sectarianism, it’s total madness and cowardly from wherever it comes from, Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen, we all have our morons, but Clark is no saint?

Ulsterman you are 100% on the money mate.
We need to be a forward thinking club and so do the fans
The dark days of sectarian violence need to be in the past.
It’s tough taking kids to watch the game when you know this BS is bubbling away under the surface
I want to take my kids to ibrox week in week out
Both my kids have catholic friends as do I
I would be well pissed off if they called them Fenian B
It’s not language we use in my house.
The unionist community has bigger fish to fry
In Scotland with SNP trying to split the uk up.

listen to SG on this they had a beer after the match and not a peep about it. Guys a tool and sore loser. Definite red card too but there will be no apology.

A lot of very sensible posts following William Ks text, it proves that most Rangers fans are not the sectarian idiots people try to say we are.
Personally I blame the Covenanters (Scottish settlers ) for all the troubles in NI, 😂 joking of course, as an Ulster Scot I’m proud of my blood.

another point to add to Clarke not mentioning the Boyd situation, the media will love to call us out but stoke the flames with stories like the barasic going to mass one a few weeks ago? they are implicit in all this too!

I really think it's about time the club says there should be no political, religious and nation based association with the club. To say the club us a unionist club is ridiculous. These may have been the beliefs of those around when the club was set up but why should anyone follow that? I also find it funny when people talk about protestantism when it realates to football, let them sing Church of Scotland till I die. I would be surprised if even 10% of our fans are religious in any form.

This is a football club. I could not care less about the union, religion or the history of N ireland.

In all honesty I have felt ashamed and unwelcome on multiple occasions at Ibrox from the singing and chants.

Huey
Calm down, it’s only a bit of fun, I know there’s a serious side to it and I certainly respect your righteous anger over the topics discussed. When I mentioned Covenanters coming to NI it was in jest, we have to get past this sectarian nonsense and why not with humour?

Its bang out off order on both counts and fir asking where was Clarke's defence of Boyd, where is Boyd's defence of Clarke? Both have spoken out themselves after the abuse they've taken! Maybe both should come out together and speak about it but it's a cancer off Scottish football and needs rid off . Few people saying it can't be stopped but if everyone made a decision to not be part of the mob singing and giving abuse, even if its 1 a week that stops then slowly but surely it will go, atleast at football matches, just my thoughts on it but I hate the whole thing for what it does to the reputation of our football .
