Hi fellow bears. Haven't posted in a long while. Having time to reflect on the season (dispite the fact the league isn't quite over yet) I think there's been as many mistakes from certain players as there has been from Gerrard. From the players point of view, tav is never a rangers captain and dispite the fact he can have the odd good game going forward he's also never a defender, never has been since he first came in and when he misplaced that pass against the mhanks that really sealed it for me.

no concentration when it matters most and had we got something from that game which I think we deserved, the league table could be looking a lot better, if some club in England offers 5 mil plus for him then bite their hand off, plenty better rb's out there who can also defend.

On the subject (and mystery) that is morelos. He's the highest goalscorer we've had since jelavic (please correct me if I'm wrong) which considering how bad we've been in recent years does speak volumes, superb talent on his day but his temper let's him down too often. He was a steal for £1 mil, again if someone offers us £14 mil plus then get rid.

His heart is already set away from ibrox anyway so we don't want players who don't really want to be here. Barasic and grezda, very disappointed in both, I actually thought when Barasic came in he literally looked like a world class lb, but since then has gone into a shell, and grezda isn't worth talking about, £2 mil wasted, I'll get shot for saying this but I think Pena, given the chance, would of done a better job (technically he did stats wise) but the biggest gripe for me, is from Gerrard.

Almost the second he split goldson and katic up is when our defense, and along with it our season started to fall apert, worrall (apart from the celtic game at Ibrox) has been a total disaster, thank God he's only on loan, katic for me all day, the guy is going to be a class act the more he plays. As I said at the start of the post mistakes from the players and the manager, but I think we can all see a genuine improvement since Stevie g came in and hopefully we can push on from here next season.

there's better captains and rb's out there than tav, and there's better strikers with less of a temper than morelos out there aswell. No player is bigger than the club and if we at least sort those two positions out I think we are in for a shout next season.

On a brighter note, arfield, Jack, Kent and Shagger have been immense this season and Kamara looks like the deal of the century for 50k, he's a class act. Onwards and upwards bears. # #55 #letsgo 🇬🇧🔴⚪🔵.

I like kent but I don't think he's been immense this season. When we got SG as manager we got someone learning his trade and he's made some real dodgy decisions . Playing Worral being the worst. This season has been one of missed opportunities. BUT if we get rid of the dead weight, signing quality over quantity this summer we could have a good year next season.

I was with you Dunoonbluebear until your remark about Pena. You must be having a laugh! I agree about getting rid of Morelos for as much as we can. Though he's scored lots of goals his indiscipline has undoubtedly cost us points. I'd keep Tavernier though, I think he is class. After the performances of our youth team and the development squad this season surely two or three of these lads will be given a chance? Looking forward to seeing how Hastie and Jones fit into the squad. Hastie in particular looks a big, physical lad who can score goals.

Has Hastie actually signed yet? Pena was just a guy with too many problems, drinking to excess and professional football do not mix, something has to give .

I agree about pena. But you can't argue that he showed afew moments of magic. Just ashame he couldn't keep his addiction to a minimum. A creative midfielder is what we are missing though.

Pena (allowing for his personal probs ) like a lot of signings and up and coming young guys don't really get much of a chance to prove they can do it. Remember a 16 year old called Derek Johnstone? Time to get real with our squad, every matchday the bench should have at least 2 youngsters who have talent and could be relied on to give their best if called on as subs. We have to develop yes, but for now there seems to be no end game for these youngsters, and I feel heart sorry for them.

Richie 1 that would be a good move, two young talented players seeing what it’s all about to be a first teamer, I believe Stevie G. would do what you suggest and build on his youth. On the bench doesn’t mean play but for a 17 year old to get that sort of experience would be some buzz especially at Ibrox with those fans.

Well Pena was a Mexican international so your right the talent was there, bad advisors probably and to much money at a young age . And if he found it hard to hack it in his homeland what chance had he in a foreign country, most players settle but he was an exception methinks. Pity because he certainly had talent.

It's all very well saying there are better captains/ strikers/ right-backs etc etc out there - but WE CAN'T AFFORD ANY OF THEM, so let's get behind the guys we have. Realistically, all the fringe players (grezda, lafferty etc) are about as much quality as our finances will stretch to - so we could sell our best players and just get a team full of squad players instead. You guys slating the captain and our top goalscorer should be careful what you wish for.

S. G is the man for the job the confidence must be at its highest inside the home dressing room at Ibrox than its seen in 7 -8 years we’ve played good when it’s not matters as much I. e these last few games but he’s showing he’s got the tactics like the new year Celtic game like some of the European games all he needs now is consistency and for a first year manager I think he’s went pretty good! . good point on the Pena situation was also thinking the same myself the guy Grezda looked good for the Croatian mob but coming to a team the size of rangers just dosnt suit some players mentality.

I agree with Souness, we have what we can afford. we can't go out buying proven this and proven that. how much would it cost to buy a 28 goal machine and don't say there are ones in our league, of course they aren't and yes he is a liability with his temper. i think he will come good on that front especially having to sit out for 4 games and took a fine also. having youngsters on the bench great, but i guarantee you they won't be played unless we have effectively won the match, they certainly won't come on to change a game because us fans would crucify them if things don't go quite right. so that's the issue we as fans want a win every week or its not good enough and what would that do for the confidence of a 17/ 18 year old.

@DBbear - so you want £5 million plus for a player who ‘ is never a captain, can’t concentrate when it matters and can’t defend’?
You should join the list of ‘fans’ on here who want rid of the liability that is Morelos but won’t accept anything less than £12 - £15 million!
So being honest, if you want rid of players due to ‘ talent or temperament ‘ why should other clubs pay decent money for them?

@uj did barcelona not pay a large fee for Luis Suarez after his biting incidents in the premier league and the world cup? He's been a revelation since then. So does that not prove that players can change their tune with a different club and more money?
