mEXER IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG HERE.
When is everybody going to wake up to the real world, we cannot compete for top quality players in our league, let's face it, we are playing against teams from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen who CAN SOMETIMES pull in decent crowds on decent pitches, but in the main the attendances are abysmal, the stadiums are even worse, yet we expect top quality players to take lower wages to come an play in what is basically a mickey mouse league, with basically joke teams making up numbers.

Any of you can check the attendances every week, and away from the 3 cities, the attendances are struggling to reach 4 figures. Would you be prepared to come here under those circumstances and for lower wages? It's a joke just like our international bunch of clowns. Rant over but I know i am right when English National league sides can get bigger crowds than our Championship teams.

Mexer is 3.6M player never was too optimistic about it but you need to stop negative post about the Scottish League we know it's bad the press don't help it either.

Scottish football has the highest attendance based on population in Europe= In Scotsman newspaper (2018)

ritchie many players would sign for scottish clubs because
1: playing for rangers or celtic will guarantee european football.
2: playing for other clubs in the hope they may be scouted for the bigger clubs
3: many players move here in the hope of going down south to england
4: yes crowds are abysmal but our top 2 teams are amongst the highest in europe that would attract many players just to be able to play at ibrox or parkhead for some is special and hope they would be noticed because of all the coverage .
5. when walking into ibrox you are walking into the worlds most successful football club so if your playing for rangers or raith rovers you get that buzz they are all looking for just by being there. that will attract some.

no we cannot compete with the money there is down south but history shows that there have been top players playing up here and will continue to do so now the famous are back . steven gerrard has stated everything you have mentioned and wants to change that because he believes . rant over.

I don’t buy into the crowds being the issue especially in Mexers case as the crowds in France are not great either.
Money talks is the bottom line unless you are looking to re launch your career and fancy a few seasons in Scotland to build it back up etc
It’s already been stated that EPL clubs can play games with not a single fan in the stadium and still be financially sound due to TV money etc

I agree the standard of football is very low but I’m very optimistic for the future
Our youth development is the best it’s been for a long time.
Don’t worry about other clubs - we pull massive crowds (more than most EPL) and we have a manager that players respect and want to play for.

A big season for us next season.

Ritchie1.The real world is that the population of Scotland is 5.4 million and the population of England is 55 million so how on earth can our teams outwith the Old Firm attract larger attendances? Many teams in the English Championship are based in large cities - Leeds, Sheffield, Birmingham, Nottingham, etc - and even in English League 1 there are teams based in Portsmouth, Bradford and Coventry, to name but three. When I see crowds of barely 5000 at Dens Park for Dundee home matches it makes me sad as I remember when Dundee used to get home crowds of between 30,000-35,000 back in the day when my Dad used to go and see them. Those days are gone forever unfortunately. The days of Rangers and Celtic signing really big-name players have also gone and we need to go for players further down the list who can do a job for us. Our world, like Celtic's, will be to strive to win the domestic honours every year and get a decent run in Europe. My rant over too!

Your right Fraser 52.Its all about us f**k the other clubs. Worry about the famous and the famous only! Its all about what we do and are doing.

Its not really though is it coop / fraser? If we want to improve as a club, as a league and attract better players to improve the standard and quality of our game then we need all clubs to be doing well. How can our product improve when people like you's are so tunnel visioned that you fail to see the bigger picture. Without a marketable product to sell then how can you expect investment from tv companies, sponsors etc to help take us to the next level. Yes its all about us in the sense that we develop a youth system that produces players, we become self sufficient etc but unless we improve the above then there is only so far we can go as a club. If we want to be competitive in europe then the above is imperitive but if you want to be nothing in europe and a big fish domestically then keep up your tunnel visioned attitude👍.

Coldo - My attitude isn’t tunnel vision.
I support my team and my focus is predominately on my team especially given the attitude towards us by others.
Improving the game in Scotland is difficult given the state of the governing body.
I simply didn’t agree with the first comment based on the facts about crowds etc
A big problem we have now is that when we did attract big names like Laudrup and Gazza the financial gap between us and England wasn’t as big as it is now.

To change things it has to come from grass routes level and as I said our association are a shambles at the moment.

10.) 10 May 2019
10 May 2019 10:43:32
Grass routes is the solution fraser but to push on as a club and grow our game we need all clubs to be doing well. We can't grow the game in scotland on our own. If you think we can then it is tunnel vision👍.

Might just be me but I think; Hearts, Hibs, Kilmarnock, Livingston and Aberdeen (marginally) have all improved this season. At our best we have improved a lot but juggling 15 new players, with some disappointments, we were always going to be inconsistent and that has really hurt us in a year of coulda, shoulda beens. The great news is at the end of 2017/ 18 we had a poor team, now our starting base is a good team, by no means the finished article. onwards and upwards
almost :)

There is a simple solution to the problems of the dearth of talent in Scotland. We spoke years ago about utilising the AJAX method in Scotland, but it came to nowt. Why don't we copy the ajax system properly, and employ dutch trainers and copy their system properly. Unfortunately it will have to come from the clubs themselves as the SFA (SWEET FU#K ALL) will do what they always do, NOTHING. As for the guard of honour nonsense, do you really think they will do it for us when we win the league next season, I don't think so. ONWARDS AND UPWARDS THE FAMOUS.

13.) 10 May 2019
10 May 2019 12:01:32
Did we not try and copy the Ajax youth set up when advocat was with us?
We had a Dutch guy in charge of the youth development for a while.
It seemed to go down hill for a while after he left.
I’m much much more optimistic about our youth set up now
I just hope we manage to get some through into the first team.

Coldo - 100% agree but my focus and support will always be with Rangers.

By narrowing the gap on Celtic the product has improved. By having 2 teams in Europe the product has improved. Mexer just wanted to stay in France, just like Alves wished he stayed in Italy.

However the rest of the teams have had 5 years with us not available and did nothing in Europe. Scotland with a population of 5.5 million has 42 Clubs. England with 10 times the population has 420 clubs. Oh no actually it's 96. Therefore reduce the amount of clubs and have no more than 3 leagues.

Also Rangers and Celtic will always take care of themselves but we have 4 qualifiying rounds to reach Europe proper therefore why would players sign for us. Oh We can guarantee them qualifiying rounds at least 😀😀. Rangers and Celtic are a stepping stone to the bottom half of the EPL, if you do well there you go to the top half. European wise both old firm are not big clubs in a playing sense anymore. It will be awhile for that to happen again.

We need to improve the standard of home grown talent throughout all clubs and the only way to do this is grass roots. 👍.

Blue Pete, would agree Killie, Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen have improved play this season but home gates have improved not one jot. Seen Killie few times this season and in front of 7 thousand is depressing. Seen bigger attendances to gers games in pub! Outside OF Scottish game in toilet. Don't know whether indifference, bad marketing or what. My own view is I can walk to Rugby Park, pay cheap seat, go pub after for 1 whisky, walk home and I'm 20 quid light. Killie football is not a product worth that. Time to think.

We could follow Ajax example and
Play youth but would our manager
Really give youth a chance
We do sign Defoe Davis McCauley
Aye give youth a chance.

Celtic fan here but agree wholeheartedly with some of the points.

One thing I'll add is the cost of going to a game is ridiculous.

I've got two kids at the age of wanting to go and it can easy set me back upwards of £100-£150 to get them to a game.

Slightly better going to morton games as closer to homeand the cost is reasonable for them.

£25-£30 to watch motherwell v Dundee is an issue worth highlighting here.

Prices should reflect the product and then the stadia will fill.

Look at Germany for example, larger crowds, cheaper tickets, better product and you can have a bevvy at the games.

I concede the last point would be ruined here by morons.

Just my input, tell me to f-off if you wish 😂.

yernawbaws, agree, the tickets are overpriced. however we are paying for the players we are bringing in. i know it won't happen because every team want to look after themselves naturally and the price for failure is unbelievable so the likes of celtic and rangers we won't take a chance on youth until the 3 points are already in the bag or its an absolute necessity through injury. scenario in a old firm, we play say 4 youths and get gubbed, the manager would get hammered for his line up and potentially out the door. why would that manager take the chance. even now you have the title, will lennon put youths in to play us on sunday doubt it and i'm not blaming lennon because the pressure is there to beat your rivals no matter what.
