Another prime example of why our youngsters who are on the periphery of making it in our team is aiming too low by playing in the English League One or the English game yet again under estimating the quality of our game up here

Greg Docherty got player of the year for Shrewsbury and was one of the best players ripping up in League One on a loan spell yet finds himself not being able to break into our side yet again!

Now Jake Hastie is ripping it up for Rotherham and has been the best player on the park in some matches

Should we not be putting these boys out on loan in the Championship as I believe most would excel much better level and probably a level where most of the better players are at at the minute

Of course, it does require for Championship teams to be interested in the first place!

My opinion on those two players is that they are a standard above League One level Too early to assess whether that is the case for McCrorie but sure he will come good aswell

Thoughts guys?

@kaz - you already hit the nail on the head. It takes a Championship level team to come in for them first. 👍.

It’s a difficult one. I’d like to keep them tbh and try and play them as much as possible to grow a core group of players together, but at the moment just no space in the team. Think they could go to the championship just the same and do as good a job but without playing with our players in our system there’s no guarantee they’d be able to do it for us.

jim, managers can't take chances. imagine we lost a game and a youngster caused the losing goal. these days they will only get game time when the game is already won.
