One of the basics of football is that you play a right footed right back and a left footed left back. Doesn't get simpler. I know Chelsea ran with their right back on the left a couple of seasons but it didn't really fool anyone. I can't blame Flanagan as he's a right back but although Halliday is not a natural fullback I'd have played him on Wednesday. Just have to hope Barisic is fit for Sunday.

Bang on----if gerrard can't see this and plays sunday I don't see us winning --I would imagine lennon would throw 3 right wingers on lol.

Not the scoring goals a problem it’s the defending? Thought the other night that the back 4 and goalkeeper were shocking and will have to raise game🇬🇧.

Not that I’m wanting Flanagan at left back but he did play there against them at ibrox last season when we beat them, barasic should be fit I hope.

Flanagan was standout against them at Ibrox. That tackle against Rogic and putting Brown on his erse were tremendous.

Maldini, Irwin, Zanetti, Lahm - 4 of the best full backs of my lifetime and they all played on their “wrong” side. You’re good or you’re not.
