Someone commented earlier about Candeias having spat the dummy because he wouldn’t be first choice. I’ve heard (from inside the club), that Gerrard can be quite cold with players when he decides they’re not needed. Did it to Grezda (probably fair enough) but also Candeias, Dorrans and is now doing it to Murphy. I love our manager but he definitely has his favourites. The likes of Tav and Goldson (and Worral last season) can do no wrong.

Shankly, Clough and other top bosses used to completely ignore even injured players. They only concentrate on those who are playing, who are of use to them. The assistant managers are always there with the paper hankies for those who can't handle it.
