As its a banter post let's have some banter and cheer ourselves up

If gerrard walked this summer and we had the opportunity to bring in an ex rangers player as a manager for the stopping their 10 season. who would you lot like it to be.

basically I've got a day off work and decided to give the wife a lie in and get up with the kids . so while they're watching peppa pig i need to keep myself entertained and zone them out. because shouting be quiets not working

Anyway . i'd choose barry ferguson as manager . solely because he bleeds red white and blue. and i'd love to see him up against lennon. and we all know he would never ever give up.

Hypothetical but If it had to be an ex player the only person that would fill me with any sort of confidence would be Terry Butcher. Not by any stretch of the imagination do I want that to happen tho lol.

The legend that is Walter Smith, if he'd come out of retirement, which I'd imagine he wouldn't.

GVB just due to his managerial experience. F De Boer and Gattuso but less convinced by either.

I’m sure Ferguson would leave the players in no doubt what is required but not sure how good a manager he is - I think he should be at the club already as a coach though. I don’t think there are enough people at the club who understand what it means to play for Rangers.

My other shout would be Richard Gough. Greatest Rangers captain in my lifetime (in fact when I think of captain Gough just comes to mind) and if memory serves, in his brief management spell with Livi he came in when they were bottom of the league and rallied the troops and they clawed their way out of trouble?

Ferguson? Cmon. haha. he's at kelty hearts and got the bullet from Clyde. Would have to be Gio. Due to actually having a not bad career and won trophies as manager.

Gio? 1 league title in 6 years as a manager?
Currently chasing the money in China? 😂😂😂.

What about Shota Averladze, with his assistant Peter Huistra, they seem to be doing alright just now.
Both know the club and know what it takes to be winners.

Think Fergie in back room team an ok shout think Alex Rae in the team somewhere NOT as manger seems to talk sense and again like Barry Ferguson is bear thru and thru
Is an idea also I appreciate they’ve got to serve some function but both have all badges reqd and I’m sure could add something to the mix.

Tupac - that’s just plain wrong. First of all, he’s only been a manager 5 years. Second of all, in his first full season in charge he won the cup, in his second season he won Feyenoord’s first league title in 18 years. If anything, he had a more difficult job to achieve than Gerrard as he had to beat Ajax, PSV and AZ to do it, we only have to beat Celtic.

First season - GVB - 1 domestic cup. Gerrard - 0.
Second season - GVB - league title - Gerrard - lost the league by mid-February.

GVB has a far better managerial record than your hero Gerrard AND he knows what it takes to play for Rangers.

And then flopped in his last 2 seasons so you would have chased your choice out the door as well. 😳😂😂😂😂.

Nope, won the cup the next season too. Try again.

Also, would rather someone won a title then flopped than just plain flopped like Stevie G.

Given that Holland has 2 domestic trophies (unless you count their version of the Charity Shield, which he also won), he won 50% of all domestic trophies available to him in his first 3 seasons.

Even if Gerrard wins the Scottish Cup this season and the treble next season he would still fall short of that mark.

Murder when you try to argue with someone and they use facts and logic eh? 😂.

But he only won 1 league title in 4 years and you’ve got him as the messiah! So Gerrard has another 2 years to match / better his achievements?
And foreign clubs don’t care about domestic cup competitions. Only in Scotland is there pressure to win every game for the big clubs.
Even the English clubs in recent seasons have looked down on the FA Cup!
Murder when someone destroys your argument with real facts and logic isn’t it? 🤪😂🤪.

No he doesn’t have 2 years to match or better his achievements, I’ve just laid them out to you. 2 trophies in his first 2 years. 3 in 3 years. 3 out of 6 trophies. Gerrard 0 out of 5.

And Feyenoord have Ajax, consistently one of the best teams in Europe to compete with, as well as PSV and AZ. We only have Celtic. Look at the squads Ajax and PSV had when GVB won the title and look and where the players are playing now.

If you think Gerrard is a better manager than GVB you are absolutely kidding yourself.

And foreign clubs absolutely do care about cups. I’ve lived and worked across Europe so pretty sure I’m in a better position to judge than you. England is a law unto itself.

Ohhh! Swagman giving it the big I am!
Ajax weren’t strong until the last couple of seasons as always happens with the Dutch si'ds.
They bring through a clutch of stars, sell, then start again.
Even the Dutch national si'd was rank rotten during this period so you are havering!
But anything to suit your anti Gerrard agenda👍.

Weren’t strong until the last couple of seasons? Now you’re just taking utter nonsense so I’m not even arguing with you anymore.

Their squads from those seasons are available with a quick google. Almost every player would walk into Celtic’s lineup.
