Which past players do you think never quite got the praise they deserved and who do you think were players who had potential but never quite fulfilled their potential?

1) I think that from years ago Stuart Munro was a bit underated

2) Brahim Hemdani was another player who I thought was underated. He was no world beater but when he played as an old fashioned sweeper I thought he done a great job.

3) Stevie Smith was a player that I thought would have went on to better things.

Gabriel Amato was a special player that wasn't here long enough. One of the most skillful players rangers have ever had imo. Going to be controversial and say Barry Ferguson should have went on to better things instead of going to Blackburn.

Barry ferguson i agree chose wrong, when he went to blackburn rovers, because graeme souness was the manager there, at the time. Both liverpool and newcastle utd were also interested in signing baz and he should have waited and signed for one of those two much bigger clubs instead!

Think the most underrated Ger in my lifetime has been Alex McDonald. Loved wee Doddy, in another era he would have been a Scotland regular.

Agree re Stewart Munro, if I’m right he signed from alloa as well, for about £30k? I thought Tugay was better than what I thought he was when he was with us. And I think of the abuse craig Moore used to get, and I watched that cup final re run when he was centre back against that lot with big Amo, I wish he was at centre half for us now.

I see people mentioning Barry Ferguson but I thought the poll was underrated not overrated 🤔😂 ok I’ll give u Sebastian Rozental (injuries but looked great at times ) , John bomber brown everyone’s always talking about was papac, Numan, bjorkland, Davy Robertson or frank de boer etc our best left back, but bomber brown was solid lol 😂 I.

Bankie, u r right re Doddie, however I don’t think he was underrated by the people who mattered. Ie the fans.
He played in a time when Scotland had some amazing midfielders.

Tugay was a wonderful player. Dave Smith was the one outstanding player I remember (only 2 caps and both friendlies) he played during their 9 in a row era. He was a bit like mc stay a great player in the their right team but at the wrong time.

I always liked Alec Clelland at right back, a good solid attacking full back, Tavernier could have learned a lot from him.
