Ok i need to get this off my chest. I am getting really frustrated with the lack of young Scottish players we are seeing. What exactly did Middleton do? Ross McCrorie can cover 3 different positions and played CB and CDM for us very well. then shipped out on Loan.

When Robby McCrorie was 17 every club in Europe wanted to buy him. Sent out on loan to be player of the year in league 2/ league 1 and then finally half a season in the championship and then the SPL. Still hasn't a hope with us though has he!? Kai Kennedy, wanted by Roma and Man City.

Nah we will play Ryan Kent, wanted by. us, just us. Glenn Middleton, Jack Hastie, Stephen Kelly, Dapo Mebude, Sergei Atakayi. Nah let's get Ojo in on loan from Liverpool instead. He's not doing it so let's get Hagi in. hmm let's try Aribo. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. GREG STEWART! Greg. Stewart. My mind can't fathom why all of the kids in our development teams, who are now highly rated and sought after in Europe. are not getting game time in the SPL.

Any of the young boys good enough will get an opportunity. Certainly expect Ross McCrorie to be back and in first team squad next season. Would love a few others to press for inclusion but they need to step up and make a claim.

This gets me as well, young players need game time at the highest level, we won't give them a chance. Stevie you are the best but give the young 'uns a shot.

Peter, I agree, but will Stevie give them a shot in case it backfires and he gets sacked. A more experience Manager would have drip fed them into the team over a period of time.

irvger, you mean like all the ones brought through by Walter Smith? Most of the lads mentioned above will never be good enough, but the McCrories will feature as will Kennedy when he is ready. None of the others will make it in a Rangers jersey as any observer of youth football will tell you.
Of any youth team, at Rangers or any other big club, one in about 300 will turn out to be a Barry Ferguson. 0ne in 100 will feature for the club, one in ten will make a living somewhere lower and the rest just won't make it.
And before people start whining 'why take them on in the first place? ' you need a squad at any level, even under 8's, to play a team game and historically these squads are made up of the talented, the hopefuls and the rest. Always was.

So did you feel Ross McCrorie isn't good enough? Was Nathan Patterson not the standout performer in the 1 game he played? Is Ojo / Barker good enough?

I want your statement to be true, but the facts are clear. Why else would West Ham be wanting Robbie McCrorie now? Why would Man City want Kai Kennedy? Why did every man and his dog want their hands on young Leon King?

Exactly what do these young scottish players need to be good enough for?
