Can we afford Dykes, Cosgrove and Shankland as 2nd, 3rd and 4th choice - we know that we need backup in the striking department and bring in a proven striker from down south?

True blue, again I raise issue, your talking bout bringing in 2,3 and even 4th choice strikers at significant cost without one word bout Mebude or Yates. These guys must be worse than they were initially touted as.
