Boring and uninspiring. Our national team has become a farce. How can England be so far ahead. We're only where we are in the world rankings due to Gerrard's sides success in Europe. If we had to rely on shagerdeen or Hibs, we would be below borats Kazakhstan. No interest. I'm proud to be Scottish, but our teams rubbish. More interested in the local. RFC.

Club teams have zero input to FIFA world rankings, I think your mixing up European co-efficients and world rankings.

One is FIFA the other is UEFA, 2 different bodies.

All this misty eyed nostalgia about the good old days when Scotland had players and were actually good. er excuse me. the era of the Baxters, Laws, Bremners, Hendersons, Johnstones etc. from 1958 to 1974 Scotland did not manage to qualify for any tournament. since that era of abject failure we have been to 8 major Finals (6 World Cups and 2 Euros) and never in one of these have managed to get out of the initial group stage. so the current squad are not underperforming. just living up to type.

My last mail contained an error . Scotland have, in fact, been to 8 World Cup Finals not 6.so that's ten major finals in all . and never managed to get out of the group stage in any.
