Now before anyone says this isn't the case it isn't me who's saying it fellow bears. I was reading steven gerrard interview tonight regarding how highly he rates our player of the year in waiting and our club captain james tavernier. Gerrard said he's played with both glen johnson and kyle walker and says tav is up there with them🤔Some compliment indeed 👌.

Tavernier is one the best right wing backs in Europe and has been for some time but now he, s got SG behind him and his qualities are now showing. My mind boggles to think that K Walker cost City 50M + cause James Tavernier is 10 times a better player than Walker every will be. Also JT will soon be up with some the best RB, s that played for Rangers!

MunBears your entitled to your opinion but to say Tav is 10 times better than Kyle Walker is for me complete nonsense. Tav is playing brilliantly and I believe could more than hold his own for a prem team but for me he is not better than Kyle Walker, are they on a par I’m not sure as you can’t compare level of competition Walker plays at vs Tav.

very interesting coops but i honestly cannoy pick a player of the year yet yes of course tav is probably favourite but what about borna? goldson? kamara? jack? kent . we really arespoit for choice are we not .? and also not forgetting mr defoe every time he plays he scores i know he doest / can't play every game but he always has such an impact.

I think Tav has turned into a cracking player this season, but to claim he has been one of the best right wing backs in Europe for some time is ridiculous!
If your mind boggles at Walkers transfer fee, my mind boggles at the absurdity of your post!
Usually when someone posts something as absurd, I like to have a nosey at previous posts.
In March you said we need to completely rebuild our defence (a defense which included Tav) . You mentioned some players we can rely on, but Tav wasn't one of them.
So, when exactly did you start to think Tav was one of the best in Europe?

Kyle Walker is totally overrated like many of the English players. What trophies have England won since 1966? The reason their club teams are so good is the foreign players. Tav and Barasic are as good full backs as any in Britain right now.

I agree briangersfan that we have a good few candidates within our team who could stake a case for player of the year thus far mate 👍 I personally thought and have said as much on here, that kent would be our player of the year this season 🤔
However, we have a right back with 16 goals already and I know there's a good few penalties in there, with god knows how many assists and we've not hit the new year yet! That is remarkable stats from tav and he's undoubtedly playing the best football of his career 👌 He's grown into the rangers captain's armband and is a leader without being the very vocal bawling and shouting type. there's many ways to be a leader 👍 Taking all this into account i would think if tav's form continues, he's a stick on for player of the year imo 🤔.

No fans in the ground, thus he isn’t feeling any stress or pressure, we happen to have a few who have played they’re natural game and are thriving, I hope they keep fans out TIL Rangers are 20 clear.

So BRW11 please tell how many goals or how many assists has Walker had compared to Tav& I can confirm it very many and remember Tav, s have also come in Europe, I can assure that many people are watching our Captain at the moment and RFC will have a decision to make in summer ie hold onto Tav or sell him for a large fee. If you, ve ever played football then you, d realize that Tav is a far better footballer than Walker ever will be and only reason City paid so much money for him cause he was England full back and was fast but if there, s a better attacking wing back in Europe at the moment then I haven, t seen him and by the way Walker could never lasse Tav, s boots!

Tat, valid point on no fans.

Celtic are struggling partly because they feed off their fans whereas we are thriving without the moans and groans in the crowd.

I’m guessing that our guys will build confidence when we win the league and be less susceptible to negativity from the terraces but my view is as always that the fans should support the players through thick and thin and let the manager deal with weak performers.
