A great way to win yesterday . I got shot down by two of my pals when I said although I don't like him personally but I think the lad Portious is a cracker centre half .

Porteous is a really good young centre half and i wouldn't be surprised in the least, if he eventually ends up at rangers or celtic 🤔.

Said for a while Porteous is a great prospect strong aggressive good in the air. I would love to see rangers try and sign him up in Jan and loan him back to hibs for the rest of the season especially if Fridge's Gers career is over. Really like the guy Newall aswell maybe not good enough for us but looks a player for them.

I was impressed by Newell in midfield, great left peg, can carry the ball, and doesn't mind a tackle.
He looked a step or 2 up on the rest of the hibs players. He won't be there long.

I would be very surprised if Rangers were to try and sign young Porteous. He would be 5th in line for a starting place. When at the moment he’s playing regular games for Hibs.

Porteous, Newell, Boyle, Doig, why are we so covetous of these players, who are at best average? Not one of them would get into our starting 11 and, more importantly, none would give up a starting berth at Hivs for maybe a place at the lower end of our squad. This is the old Shankland, Walker etc hysteria all over again. One decent game against us and they morph into world beaters.

KJA9,if/ when we do sell borna barisic, i think we'll sign the croatian under 21 left back marijan cabraja to replace borna 🤔I agree with you however that doig does look a good player 👍 Tavsonloyal, the young centre half porteous has had more than one good game against us my friend! My hibs pal tells me he always plays well and he thinks that he'll eventually be the scotland centre half 🤔.

All the Hibs players mentioned are not bad players and they all raised their game against Rangers yesterday, but they struggle against some of the lower teams in the division and they were terrible against Alloa a couple of weeks back, so I don't think they would be at the level we need,

Porteous is very decent, just comes across as a right knob tho. Tried to do roofe yday in box and should have been a pen to us. Landing on top of ball after going over it isn't winning the ball.

Tell me what have the Hibs players to do with Kamara and Jack? You are basing these individuals on how they play against us and not over every game. Hibs have been honking at times this season while we have only lost 5 goals, dropped 4 points and had 16 clean sheets. So tell me, would any of their players get in our squad? Is Doig better than Bassey or Borna, or Newell better than Kamara or Davis, or Nisbet better than Roofe or Morelos? Or, more importantly, is Porteous any better than our cb's? I rest my case.

Porteous is an old fashioned centre half kick everything that moves I was happy watching the game when I saw him in possession and trying to play the long pass which ended up in row, sorry but not good enough for our type of game.

Steven Gerrard Loyal, Porteous will possibly get capped for Scotland because of who is in charge, but he'd still be fourth choice for us, if that. He's an average centre half, like Souttar. He loves that old punt up the park that wee boys used to cheer.
Then again, maybe I really don't know anything about football, which seems to be a stock reply by those who hold different opinions to others.

Just for a couple of posters above who said they only raise there game against us and sometimes don't perform against the rest. Glen kamara was in and out the dundee team b4 we signed him. Sometimes u just need to take the gamble, might not always work but that's why it's a gamblr.

Glen didn't fit into the Dundee system, according to one of the directors who I know personally. Rangers were alerted to him via Neil McCann who reckoned he would excel with us. And that's how it's panned out. Can't see kick it the way you're facing Porteous doing the same! 😂.
