I see Celtic can't afford to pay youth players and have furloughed 18 off them.
So taxpayer needs to pay 80% off their wages.
Yet they could pay for a jolly to Dubai.
Spfl clubs should not be allowed to do this IMO.

It’s an absolute joke Celtic are doing this with supposedly £40m in the bank or whatever it is, I mean these kids must be on a few hundred pound a week if there lucky. Absolute disgrace. On top of the Dubai thing and Lowell’s apology they really are just falling apart atm.

If this is true it’s a complete and utter joke and it just keeps getting worse for that club embarrassing.

John25, spot on, I was told this last night by a retired Celtic scout when we were arguing on FB over something else. He let it slip but I thought no more of it until I read your post, now it's all over the media.

Dont agree guys.

Celtic (like us) are losing vast amounts of income through no fault of their own.

They pay their taxes so should be allowed to benefit from any government scheme that compensates.

It should not make any difference who you are or how much you have.

Am I not correct in saying they put non playing staff on furlough back in April? Absolute shambles can afford an utterly pointless holiday for the failing first team but put the kids on furlough. Every youth players wage per month prob still doesn’t amount to what they’re paying Duffy a week. No shame no class and certainly no morals!

Apparently other teams are going to do the same.

KJA9 you are missing the point mate. Celtic have splashed the cash to take (including injured players) to Dubai.

Brian’s I sincerely hope not. It would be nothing short of a disgrace.
I would like to think our businessmen would not be so inept.

The government take money at every opportunity from everyone and everything so I don't see why its a problem. These schemes are there to be used and it would be daft not to use them. I would be more surprised if rangers haven't done the same.

It's one PR disaster to another for them.
Nothing wrong with using the furlough system but we keep in hearing they are "cash rich" and they have just returned from a 49 person jolly to Dubai!

Is furlough not supposed to be for if your employees can't work due to C.V. restrictions. I would think even doing fitness training individually would count as doing their job. I would think 250k would have covered all the youth contracts for the season. don't see why my taxes should be paying their youth players to not play matches.
