Right before I even write this I feel I'm going to get a bit of stick but I want to say it anyway as this is what this page is all about. opinions.

Does anyone else feel that when you boil it down, kent really isn't much better than jones. And if you really think about it, jones is much more direct than kent, likes to run at defenders and having played rb in my twilight years of amateur football, a player constantly running at you is a nightmare. I really do feel for kent just now as it isn't happening. But take away everything except on pure footballing terms and tell me your thoughtS.

All opinions welcome 👍.

Kent for me all day long. He can be erratic and is going through a wee spell just now where he's not impacting games the way he can but he is a great player on his day. Even when Kent is having a poor game his effort never drops and he plays for the Jersey all the time. Jones is only decent with space in behind. We rarely get that so he isn't very effective for us. Some might say he hasn't had a fair chance but if Steven Gerrard who sees him in training every day is more inclined to play Brandon Barker ahead of him then I'll take the gaffers opinion on that one.

Never been a big Jones but I believe that if someone's not performing then others should be given a chance to come in and do a job

Right now Kents been rotten last few months but seems to escape a lot of criticism for some reason 🤔🤔.

I'd like to see Kent play on 1 wing and barker/ Jones on the other. Think were very 1 sided and with another winger and both being direct will take burden off Kent while hopefuly creating more chances. think teams and players know how to play Kent and he gas to keep coming inside. go oldschool for a game with 1 main striker and 2 flying wingers.

On the 1st 6/ 7 games of the season kent is by far better but form since then jones couldn’t do any worse than that to be honest.

Would still pick kent over him even tho I apparently hate kent hehe.

Mocbear take your point totally, especially about gerrard seeing him everyday. But that's why I was saying from solely a football point, which you have also gave your point on 👍. Kent is a trier I'll give you that but, it's not even been a couple of games, it's been at least the last 8-10 games I feel. Surely if that was most other players they wouldn't be afforded that number of games before having a spell on the bench? Still think jones deserves another chance to show what he has. I do feel tho that he has no chance, and the gaffer has made up his mind on him.

Orange tinted respect your opinion but for me I go with the manager all day long and think what you say is nonsense. That’s just my opinion .
Jones is unsettling in the dressing room also given the footage that came out last season where Katic was wanting to rip his head off . Kent was excellent last week against Aberdeen . Early in the season people were in a flap because Leeds had tabled a 15 mil package of which Kent knocked back due out of respect and appreciation of Stevie g . Just wait until the pitches come back then we will see . For me jones has had his chance . He didn’t track back or work hard enough.

Lol molsgoals. On one hand you respect my opinion but on the other I'm talking utter nonsense🤣. Look I get where you are coming from but we shouldn't have to wait until the pitches "come back". We live in scotland, majority of pitches end up terrible at this time of year. What your saying is having the equivalent of a fair weather player, which at rangers, isn't acceptable. I don't think he was brilliant against aberdeen either. He played better than he has but that wouldn't be hard of late. I know about the whole jones being disruptive etc and that is why I said based on FOOTBALLING TERMS. Because me original point if you read it was asking if kent was actually that much better than Jones. Then additionally, I stated that I felt jones deserved one last chance.

I respect your opinion, and feel you have made some valid points, which I don't agree on all of them.

As some of the guys have said, Jones could be a great asset but if he is disruptive and difficult it won't work. End of. Some people just can't or are too stupid to change.
