Just read an article from the rangers news blogger stating that forget mols, boyd,
jelavic etc, that alfredo morelos is the best rangers striker since the super one, ally mccoist 🤔 This should be a terrific debate on here, regarding a stunning compliment like that 👌Thoughts fellow bears and reasons why you would agree or disagree with this stunning compliment of buff 🤔🇬🇧.

My favourite striker was Colin Stein what a player.

Mols was the best overall striker I've seen at rangers.
Best goalscorer= mccoist, followed by Boyd
As much as I like fredo, I don't think he's up there with our very best strikers.

All strikers have there own style, forgot about Negri, what would he be before the eye injury.

Pre injury Mols was on another planet. If that hadn't happened he would have been in the same bracket as Laudrup, Gazza, Larsson who are the best three imports to Scottish football IMO.

Mould best player, not best scorer, McCoist, Boyd, stein, Alf not close to them,

And don’t forget big DJ, at centre half or striker, and of course Derek Parlane,

The king of ibrox park,

I know the main thing for a striker first and foremost is we have to judge them on their goalscoring!
What i will say about morelos is there's not been a striker for many a year, as good at him at being able to bully and occupy a full opposition backline and playing as the lone central striker role,
Which is a very hard shift and extremely hard role to play 🤔You've got to be extremely fit to perform that role, the way alfredo can perform it 👌He brings so much to our team in every way, no doubt about that 👌 So probably apart from hateley, buff is the best i've seen at bullying/ occupying a full backline on his own 👍 His hold up play and overall value to how our current team likes to play, suits alfie to a T 👌 He's also never injured and he gets a lot of hard treatment during games from defenders!

Remember Stein well and hat tricks in first games. Other than McCoist I would say Hately. In fact the McCoist-Hately combination in Battle of Britain think best I’ve seen.

Strikers are rated on goals.

9.) 28 Feb 2021

McCoist and Hateley for me guys are the best I’ve seen at our club. Goals and great Rangers men🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧.

Boyd - 104 goals in 172 appearances for Rangers
Super Ally - 251 goals in 418 appearances for Rangers
Morelos - 52 goals in 113 appearances for Rangers
Jelavic - 30 goals in 45 appearances
For me it's Super Ally all day long. 👍.

Boyd scored goals but was a terrible player but he was paid to score.

Mols was outstanding bad injury or what could have been

Jelavic good player

Morelos good player

If it wasn’t for injuries would be mols hands down but I would say out of the other 3 I would rather have Morelos than the other two.

12.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 17:08:15
Have admit I think Jelavic was up there he was a complete striker. Think if jelavic was in this team he would rip it up mind you we are already.

TT12,I also loved the king of ibrox park derek parlane and was raging when he went to leeds utd 😠I remember the song well to the tune of the christmas song 'NOEL' ie.
'PARLANE, PARLANE, PARLANE, PARLANE,
BORN IS THE KING 👑 OF IBROX PARK'👍
Brings back special memories that does, remember the song TT12 🤔.

Morelos has a lot to offer if he stays on the pitch. Unfortunately for us he apparently wants to leave, why? Is it for more money? He will have more of a chance winning medals with us and playing in Europe or Champions league. Also soon playing in front of 55000 of the best supporters in the world. I hope he doesn't come to regret his move. Having said that Rangers did say he was up for sale in the last window, so 16-18 million would be fantastic for Rangers.

15.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 17:11:59
I agree DD1980 and said as much, that strikers are rated/ judged on their goalscoring exploits! Morelos has a good record regarding goalscoring also right enough 👍In all goals scored for rangers, he has a very good 1 in 2 goalscoring record and in europe, he's of course rangers top goalscorer of all time 👌 He's got an impressive record has buff 👌🇬🇧.

28 Feb 2021 17:31:37
A would love to see jelavic in this rangers team a think on his day he was unplayable he had absaloutey everything, McCoist obviously is the best ever because of his goals and because of the contribution he had on the park, boyd was a born goal scorer and for me probably the best finisher I have seen at the club, think if we sell Morelos he’s going to be so difficult to replace you could possibly replace his goals but his all round play will be so difficult, a really hope he stays for 1 more year because if we make champions league football and he impresses then his valuation has an extra 5 to 10 million on it, Morelos should have a good look at what he’s leaving behind a know there’s teams that can pay him a lot more money but that might not necessarily be a top team that’s winning trophies and having European football, Hope he stays 1 more year.

Bigiik, if I was Morelos, a Colombian, with a new family, having spent years in the cold, where it’s dark at 4 pm, as pissing down, with nothing open, but, I have a chance of going to the sunshine, or the holy grails of England, Spain etc for one big contract

I would have my bags ready now for the airport

But I’m a Rangers fan so who knows

Sgl, pour yourself another malt.

Forgot about negri,

And wee Polaris too.

And my old school chum, and possilpark teammate Robert Fleck, greatest ever over the first 10 yards,

20.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 18:02:34
Agree Derek Johnstone was a great striker for the club and doubling up at CH was quite remarkable. Believe also played both striker and CH for Scotland. I remember Parlane and he was certainly better than Ally Scott and Martin Henderson who sometimes played at that time. Scored Wonderful goal in Cup Winners Semi the night Dixie Deans missed that penalty.

21.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 18:03:54
Morelos record in Europe is second to none I loved watching all these players but afraido is a nightmare for defenders and scored some massive goals and at £1m has to be one of our best in the last 10 years.

22.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 18:08:44
Mccoist was my hero. he's still the best striker Rangers have had in my opinion. He scored the goals but was also a better all round player than he got credit for. He wasn't a player to be messed with he could put himself about a bit as well but this gets overlooked a bit. Mols was incredible as well and can only echo what everyone above has said about him. I also think big Dado Prso was a tremendous player. Shame about his injuries as well but what a warrior that guy was.

23.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 18:10:01
TT12, Robert Fleck great player, left club far too soon IMO.

24.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 18:17:37
Colin Colin Colin Stein, Colin Colin Stein, chased every ball even when he had no chance of getting it, never forget his glancing header at easter Road to win first ever Scots Prem.
My wee brother was called after him.
He was my hero growing up, but super Ally has got to be best ever striker, the East end mob must have hated seeing mccoists name on the starting 11 when we played them, he was "The Scurge Of Celtic".

25.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 18:32:15
I liked flecky who was very fast over the short period 👍If my memory serves me correct it was norwich city he went to when he left us 🤔.

26.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 18:45:29
its really difficult to call because they are all different and played in different set ups. not sure how McCoist would have done with playing solo up front. i guess we should consider ourselves fortunate to have had the pleasure to even have this discussion.

27.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 19:03:01
MrPH why only count some off the goals. Our strikers scored many more.

28.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 19:15:40
Big Jelavic was the complete striker, could put in the donkey work bring others into play score all sorts of goals, pity we only had him for about 18 months.

29.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 19:33:57
Only counted the goals they scored for Rangers, John25.👍
From a Rangers perspective, I'm not interested in what they done elsewhere or how many International goals they scored. 👍
But goals / appearances at club level:-
Boyd - 293 goals in 647 appearances for Rangers
Super Ally - 405 goals in 777 appearances for Rangers
Morelos - 142 goals in 258 appearances for Rangers
Jelavic - 171 goals in 439 appearances
Still Super Ally for me. 👍.

28 Feb 2021 19:40:18
Bigiks

Know this ain't England but think 16-18m to English team would be peanuts.

31.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 19:41:54
Jelavic also was a terrific one touch finisher 👌 I remember him coming on at tynecastle and scoring a superb one touch finish goal 👌.

32.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 21:04:13
Millerbrandwilson, how much do you think Rangers will receive for Morelos then? They were hardly queuing up to sign him in last transfer window. I wish he would stay though.

33.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 21:13:02
Your original post only counts league goals not cup goals for rangers.

34.) 28 Feb 2021
28 Feb 2021 22:24:12
I know that now John25🤦 I made a right mess of that. 👍
I was thinking to myself, I'm sure Morelos has scored more than 52 goals. Stats misfire!

Buzz will be chucking,

I remember Erik bo Anderson was a great goal score too, didn’t get the correct game time here, I’m sure Walter regretted that, never forget him putting Celtic to the sword,

I fear it may be a very long time before 55,000 are inside ibrox mate, maybe not even the next few years at least, I’m vaccinated but I’m not totally protected, so I’m not sure what may happen.

37.) 01 Mar 2021
01 Mar 2021 02:42:41
Was a bit surprised he's not been mentioned so thought I'd show some love for 'King' Kenny Miller. 116 goals for the teddies over 3 spells and I enjoyed them all.

01 Mar 2021 07:47:43
I think exactly the same TT12!I'm also now vaccinated, but I feel it will be at least well into 2022 before there's even a chance of a full ibrox again 😞 That's providing everything falls into place and we can keep ahead of these variants/ mutations and everyone does as they're asked to do, for the health and safety of all of us 🙏.

Hopefully the vaxs work troops, I get my first next week as I fall into the "at risk" due to a hereditary heart disease that runs in my dads side of family. I'm still hoping it will be sooner before we are all back at ibrox, there must just be a better answer than continuous lockdown. The country Is in tatters people need some kind of normality back.

Unfortunately there is no other option, it’s vax and distances, sad but true.
