Just saw the Slavia statement on the sighting page

Can’t possibly be put out by an adult surely,
Or a professional, ?

Utter drivel about the history of European football, and the “ brutal “ challenges on they’re players

I happen to believe that Roofe should be banned for a long time now after one of the worst challenges I have ever seen, if that happened to greegs I would be in shock even now

But somethings telling me something was said to him too,

Doesn’t change the challenge though, it was an assault without doubt

Ed, what is your take on the challenge?

{Ed001's Note - didn't see it, I am not a big fan of European football, so very rarely watch it unless Liverpool are playing. It is just the worst of football, all the play-acting, diving and cheating turned up to full volume, without crowds there is just no enjoyment in that for me.}

Roofe was looking at the ball though by time the goalie came into his view was too late his foot was already up. Looks a terrible tackle but no way did he mean to hurt the goalie. He couldn't complain if he was banned for more tho.

Tom it’s a bad one but I actually think his eyes are fixed on the ball I don’t think he deliberately done the keeper red card all day though. I remember learning the game as a kid and my manager/ coach always told us if you draw out a tackle 2 things will happen you will be subbed or get injured 🤕. Anyway don’t think roofe is a player who would go out there to harm an opponent deliberately.

Absolutely not on purpose stupid post! Saying our own players should be banned for a long time 🤯.

His eyes are not looking at the ball his head is down so can't be looking at the ball its wreckless and dangerous the quicker he's out the club the better don't want him at the club and I'm not the only one shocking assault on a fellow pro that gives our club a bad name.

I don't buy into the whole Roofe isn't that type of player nonsense. So because he's not a dirty player he shouldn't get banned for the same amount of time as a so called dirty player? His tackle on the St Johnstone player a few weeks ago was horrendous as well don't forget.

Was a red card all day long
Don’t think he meant to hurt the keeper tho that’s irrelevant as it’s still dangerous play I would say 3 match ban.

If had to refrain from putting anything on here as everything I was starting to type became something I'd get banned for. Them and the ref were like going back to when we used to play teams from the Warsaw pact in the 70's and 80's it was disgusting and uefa are no better their silence is deafening. Did the ref come as part of there back room staff as he could have fixed things earlier in this game but at no point did he have a grasp of it.

Ridiculous post Sirwalter. It was a bad challenge and we should accept any ban but do you think there was any intent to hurt the keeper? You see it in football all the time where a player is going high or stretching to reach a ball and doesn't see someone coming in with their head. The only difference here is bad luck and the speed it happened. If either player was half a yard slower or had glanced up a second quicker then nothing would have happened.

Horrendous tackle. Deserves all he gets.

The st Johnstone tackle he was trying to protect the ball and Murray Davidson came in on his blind side. I saw something similar in EPL and the lad got booked. It was a sore one for Murray but accidental for me.

The one the other night he is out of control, foot at head height, studs showing, causes major damage to opponent so for me they can’t really be compared.

Roofe got to the ball first, clearly first aswell by a good bit, his eyes were on the ball the whole time. Was it foot to head or head to foot. it was clearly head to foot. I can see why he got sent off as a high boot and dangerous play but there was no malice or intent or anything involved. granted it was a bad 1 for the keeper but any1 watching it clearly shows no intent and won the ball by a country mile so I'd be surprised if there's anything more on roofe other than red card.

Daviedouglas

Sorrr have to disagree mate utterly shocking challenge. Winning the ball is irrelevant he clearly endangered an opponent and their keeper probably won’t play again this season and possibly some of next. Also surprised at the lack of remorse or an apology from Roofe. He can’t complain if he rightly gets an extended ban.

Clearly it was head to boot, and his boot was high too, wonderful mate,

I thought it was a pure accident, in fact I've done similar myself in a game. Felt terrible and so sorry for the lad I caught. Accepted the red card I deserved and the keeper recovered ok. He never bore me any ill will as he also knew what type of guy I was and that I would never have done it on purpose. Roofe should serve his ban and we move on. It is just one of those things. The incident against St Johnstone you see in every game. Roofe is reaching to protect the ball. Davidson gets there first. Pure accident.
