Here's a question i'll put out there regarding our great, legendary former captain barry ferguson. Fellow bears, would barry ferguson in his prime get into our starting midfield of today and if so, who's place would he take?
This should be interesting 🤔.

I think I would take him above anyone in our current midfield tbh. However if we can tie down Kamara and get a replacement for Davies for when he retires we should have a great midfield for a few years to come.

Who would be your starting 11 from current squad v Manchester squad?

Hi, S G L,

I'm probably wrong again as usual, am I right in thinking Barry was nicknamed Barry passback? .

Was a long time ago tho so probably was someone else.

Cheers mate.

Barry Ferguson would stroll into our starting XI, be outstanding in it and probably captain the team. In his prime, he is exactly the kind of player that we should be looking to bring in.

Ferguson would walk into present rangers team imo.

No disrespect to Kamara, Aribo or Jack but imo none of them would start over ferguson, Kevin Thomson or Hemdani.

Fergie in prime was unplayable. Could literally replace anybody in the midfield. take your pick.

Without a doubt Ferguson would play and Captain this side.

Other than Davis no other player in our midfield is close to him.

I highly rate kamara but he is still improving and isn't at that level yet.

The same 'passback Barry' that scored 18 goals in 02-03 when we won the treble. 🤔

Ferguson was the one player in Scotland that could actually keep the ball, always offered an option for a pass even in the tightest spot and never gave up on the pitch. He'd start in almost any gers team of any era.

Ferguson was nicknamed the crab billy because 90% of the time he went sideways or back. Not for me I’m afraid.

Bluebilly, did you ever actually watch barry ferguson closely even when he went to england? Baz could control a full game from start to finish and undoubtedly could pass the ball into forward areas! I saw him do it countless times for rangers, blackburn rovers and birmingham city 👌In fact if i'm not mistaken, didn't baz outplay our current manager steven gerrard in one game in particular 🤔Souness and gerrard both said when baz was playing in england, he showed how class a midfielder he was, enough said pal, hope that's enough for you 🤔.

Whoa guys, I asked if it was true cause I remembered many many years ago some of my mates referred to him as Barry passback, not that I thought he was .

How long ago did Barry play for us? .

Cant even believe that's a debate. Bazza would be the best midfielder we would have in that team.

It was the much lamented Ray Wilkinson who was nicknamed the crab, also Paul McStay, never Barry in my long experience he was a class act and would be head and shoulders above anyone else in Scotland now, easily.
