Regarding the news yesterday, that jermain defoe wants one more year at rangers, before hanging up his boots, has got a debate going amongst rangers supporters 🤔I personally would like defoe to get his last year at rangers, on reduced terms of course, with a possible coaching job at the end of next season for defoe at rangers 👍
ED, could you please run a jermain defoe poll for me mate? The poll being should defoe be given a new 1 year deal at rangers, should he be given a new 1 year deal on reduced terms or should defoe not be given a new 1 year deal under any circumstances? Cheers ED,

Hardly played this season and at 38 he isn’t going to be involved much next season. No point in signing him for another season better to get a much younger player in.

Signing all these older players tells me the transfer budget is going be low this season. As much as it's good signing Davis, Shagger and defoe there's got to be a plan after these guys retire.

People on social media stating he's on 60k a week. that's lies as top earner at gers on 30k a week. Unsure how much Defoe is on but it will be close to the top earners. he's not played much this year and personaly think his wage be better spent on a younger player or a direct replacement if Alfie leaves.

No, he needs to move on to free his wage up on someone who will play on a regular basis. He's now our 4th choice striker on decent money, but we're getting very little in return. Take away all the romantic balls about how he's good to have around for his experience etc, because we need players who are doing it on the park on a regular basis. Top player and man, but time to go!

The strategy has to be to bring in better players, ideally in their mid to late 20's unless we can find another Morelos. Having an additional elder statesman is fine but midfield would be a more suited area if one of quality could be found. Next season will be pivotal. We need to secure a place in the Group stages of the Champions League and look to win the SPL so we have direct passage to the Group stage for the following season. To secure that we need to strengthen in defence, midfield and attack.

Depends on whether SG thinks he can contribute to the squad in any capacity, whether it's goals or influence to our younger strikers. Whether he's earning his wage, I'm not sure. Love him though.

If Defoe had more opportunities this season then it would have been a yes from me to the experience he brings.
But he's hardly featured this season and unfortunately all good things must come to an end.

Keeping Davis, McGregor and Defoe on for another year makes absolute sense. We won the league this year, but this has only been once in the last 10 years. We need to keep building and developing next season and having these three in the squad is in my opinion going to be crucial. Just who are we going to bring in and who will leave? We have Itten and Roofe who haven't played that many games between them and we have Jack and Tavernier to come back after injury. Sure, we'll need to sign players, but who? I trust in Gerrard and his team and whoever leaves I'm sure the right players will come in. #56!

I’d bring in couple young 18-21 year olds like alegria who may go on to earn us big money.
