This could be hilarious if true, I am now hearing that Celtic have walked away from any deal with Eddie Howe and are now trying to entice the former Dortmund manager Lucien Favre. My understanding is that Howe was throwing obstacles in at every chance he could and Celtic have grown weary of it.

{Ed002's Note - Favre is a really great coach. So I am not sure why you find it funny.}

Family factors and not much of a transfer budget I've heard. Howe feels he needs about 40 or 50 million to rebuild a shocking squad players. Celtic's finances ain't as great as the eastenders make you believe.

I'd rather they got Howe than Favre, but whoever gets it has got one helluva job on their hands. Happy days.

I would much rather have Howe as their manager than Favre.
I think DTB finds the whole Howe situation funny rather than Farve becoming their manager. It's been widely reported in the media up here that Howe has agreed to the job, but according to Howe's agent, nothing has been agreed and any deal is a long way off. Also, some has-been singer (celtic fan) was spouting that he has seen Howe house hunting in Glasgow, but that was also rubbish.

Farve is fantasy aswell.

Favre won't come near a backwater in European football like Scotland, there is more chance of me becoming their manager than Favre. What I find hilarious is that they have basically made it clear that Howe was coming to the post, where in reality they have never spoken with him to discuss minutiae, all that was done was ask him if he would be interested. He is holding out for the Crystal Palace job that will become vacant in the summer. Kennedy will end up with the job.

Celtic have been doing this for decades. In every single transfer window. There is a leak to the press that they are going for this superstar. Make contact, then offer a crappy deal. Then say to their guilable fans. Yes but we tried to sign this one and that one but they wanted to much cash.

As if to prove my point, Favre is poised take a £6m a year offer to take on a Saudi Arabian club.

Confirmed on SSN this morning Howe isn't happening. Shame, pretty mediocre manager, just a big name.

Obviously the Saudi Arabian league is a mouthwatering prospect for players and managers. Such a competitive and exciting league with 6 million reasons to work in such an environment. 🐪🐫💰💰💰.

You saying you wouldn't go there for £6m a year then 3 cheers?

Once the stadiums are full again, we get independent officials and everybody leaves them alone, they'll stop us in our tracks. What? I'm serious, it's a given.

If someone offered me a job for 6 million a year in Saudi then I would get there tonight looking forward to the first day in my new job.
