I think if SG starts Aribo in midfield and Roofe on the wing we are in big danger of losing the game.

Agree about Roofe he contributed nothing yesterday. Overall he hasn’t done enough this season and I think has only scored 2 goals against the other sides in the top 6. Hasn’t been worth the fee paid of the high wages he is supposed to be on.

It worked very well at celtic park when we won 2-0 where we had Kent and Barker both with plenty pace on either side running at them. We also saw how our midfield of arfield davis and kamara won the midfield by quickly closing down as a unit. We saw in the last game at celtic park how ineffective both hagi and aribo were. Hagi has zero pace and can't get us up the park and aribo is too slow to close down quick in midfield, this is why we were overrun. We saw the difference in our game when arfield and wright replaced aribo and hagi. Arfield's dig helped us press as a unit in midfield and we were able to take control of the midfield. Wright was able to help Kent carry the ball, getting us up the park. We all saw how unlucky we were not to win the game from that point. So I agree wright's pace on the right instead of hagi or roofe. aribo should not be in midfield, arfield needs to be in there.

McGregor, paterson, goldson, helander, barasic, davis, kamara, arfield, wright, fredo, kent. 👍.

I like your team selection Coldo. We've missed Arfield and if he is back to fitness he is a must against Celtic. We've also missed Jack but there is not much we can do about that. If Barasic is still carrying an injury then Bassey should start. I like Aribo but he is a bit too namby-pamby at times.

Missed arfield? He has been rank rotten since he came back from injury now I agree a full fit and firing arfield is a must against Celtic but that’s not we have at the moment.

I would start wright as well but never even got on yesterday I don’t think SG will start him to be honest.

Arfield will not start as he isn't fully fit and has been rank rotten since his injury.
Plus his ball retention in the midfield is horrendous. Passing is normally a mile out.
If Wright was going to start against Celtic, he would have been involved against Hibs at some point.

For a change I agree Coldo without Jack in there we need to start aff for a bit spite even tho not in form! Don’t know what everyone’s beef is with Roofe tho he’s working his way back to full sharpness aswell he’s been great when fit this season.

I agree R1, the attitude towards hom since Prague has not been good. Clash with keeper pure accident for me and he has been recovering from injury so not his sharpest. Saw somebody comparing him to Sandaza. Hope that was tongue in cheek 😂.

MPH I agree Scotty Airfield hasn’t been up to scratch after his injury. But I would have him in against them even if it’s only the one half to get into their faces as we don’t have any other midfielders with a bit of dig available. Coldo i also think Roofe will start up front with Alfredo and Ryan. With 2 or 3 Airbo, Hagi, Wright and Defoe coming on as a sub

Watch him play and you'll see where his dig and bite comes from. Have you never watched him v celtic 6counties? Always up for it. But you're right he has been off form lately. I'll take his dig and bite over his form rather than aribo who will spend the game chasing shadows in the midfield. 👍.

6counties, to be fair the lad was exceptional prior to his injury. The talent is there and he has dig and drive. He's hardly played since he came back. Stevie sees him in training every day and obviously still thinks he is the real deal.

6 counties he is his cheerleader and he is never negative to him or kent when they have had a bad game but as soon as someone like aribo hagi of Alfredo has a bad game he can’t wait to post it unfortunately that’s just what he is like.

Agree with all the posts except Arfield. He isn't fully fit ATM.
Dont play Aribo in midfield need more dig.

Dig is only effective if it's controlled. And didn't he injure himself with a poor challenge?
If the level of ability to get a game when you are playing poorly is to have a bit of dig, then God help us.
Rangers are at their best when we play through teams. We need Kamara, Davis and A. N. Other to be up for it with ball retention, on top form and carve openings for the forwards.
We won't play Wright and Kent together as it limits the options of how we play. They are too similar. You need someone who can break teams down - that's why Gerrard always prefers Aribo.
I believe he will go with the same side that started against Hibs.

One of the main reasons when Aribo plays centre mid that we look disjointed is due to the balance of moving Kamara to the right of the 3midfielders as well.

Kamara has formed a good partnership with Barasic and Kent on the left and knows when to cover Barasic when needed. The same as normally Jack with Tav on the right side. But when Aribo is played in midfield, Kamara is moved over and the balance then seems off especially when trying to press teams and look more vulnerable when we’re attacked down the wings.
