Got a book '11 great years' gers, 1923-1934 and during this period gers played Gooners every year. Apparently quite select match for silverware. Did hear Murray sold Arsenal Cup generate funds.

Yes Stewart you’re quite corretc, that’s why I’ve followed arsenal since I first kicked a ball

Great club, and we have only got copies of the original shares, unless sandy binned them

Btw, i must say I was a bit disappointed arsenal didn’t help rangers a few years ago but they maybe couldn’t or the present ownership simply didn’t care, great club though.

I've said on here many times that we used to have a big friendship with the arsenal due to the manager's bill struth and herbert chapman being very friendly. As the slightly more experienced rangers fan will now we played the arsenal alternate years right until the 60's i believe, as my late dad, god rest his soul 🙏 used to go down to highbury for the away game one year and obviously he was at ibrox against arsenal the following year. As most know the story of us having shares in the arsenal woolwich, given to us as a present, for financially helping them out 👍🇬🇧We owned these arsenal shares, up until that rat craig whyte sold them to a rich gunner supporter😞I actually myself own a wee piece of arsenal history myself. My late dad's favourite english team was the arsenal and he gave me a a square glass keyring with a small piece of highbury turf inside the small glass case, which was given to him by an arsenal fan he got friendly with after meeting him and a lot of other arsenal supporters, from going down to highbury every alternative years many moons ago. The late wullie waddell who was my late gran's 2nd cousin from the forth also had a soft spot for the arsenal and gave me a lot of arsenal programmes and other memorabilia, when i was a wee boy 👌Its fitting we play arsenal in this 150th friendly anniversary game on the 21st of july 👍We also played the gunners in our centenary year and we played them in big richard gough's testimonial👍We have a good few links with the gunners, which slightly ebbed away when charlie nicholas signed for them in the early 80's.

Yes TT12,like i said my late dad had a massive soft spot for the arsenal and like you mate, absolutely loved going to our friendlies against arsenal, where he met lifelong friends 👍🇬🇧I wish i had been around to have attended these games with him👍I feel i had been there with the detailed stories he told about the friendlies between the clubs. I have a wee soft spot because of my dad for the gunners myself, although i've always counted newcastle utd as my favourite english team 👍🇬🇧.

SGL, was there not some story about Arsenal gifting Rangers a bike? A bit weird, I don't know the story behind this. Maybe you know SGL.

It was Usmanov that the arsenal shares were sold too. He was the 2nd biggest shareholder at arsenal
At the time I think he may have links with Everton now but not sure as he got rid of his arsenal shares.

{Ed001's Note - yeah, his accountant, Farhad Moshiri, bought Everton and then he bought in too once he offloaded his Arsenal shares. Though it is most likely Moshiri bought on his behalf anyway, as he couldn't actually own shares in two clubs in the Prem.}
