Wee guy I work with a killie fan as you can imagine he's taking a bit of stick! A few of the lads who support rangers, Celtic, Motherwell, hearts etc put it to him that there could be a vote 11-1 in favour of getting rid of plastic parks from top flight football. The irate killie fan recons it wouldn't hold up in court and that uefa would certainly overrule this as teams from Russia use plastic and they play in champions league etc. Thoughts?

I would imagine if all the members voted to do away with plastic pitches in the Premier league then it would be final. No court would be able to overturn their decision because its voted for by the members.

Clubs don’t get to vote for criteria of seating requirements or pitch surface it is the decision of the league organisation the SPFL.
That’s not to say if it were put on an agenda at 1 of their meetings that it couldn’t become a voting issue.
I agree with removing the minimum 10k all seater rule as some smaller clubs can’t afford it and it makes it unfair on them if they get promoted on the pitch but aren’t allowed to move up.
Surely all top flight clubs should need to have a grass pitch though, the likes of Killie etc should then either replace surface or ground share if back in top flight.

Its very unfair indeed mate, i'm sure Falkirk were denied a couple of times, scandalous really but what do you expect from the sfa

Im sad Lillie are down , always been a friend of Rangers, since I started playing as a young boy Kilmarnock were associated in some way with basically being Rangers friendly, sad some people ignore that, while I hate plastic I. Still sad fir Lillie

Ps, Dundee didn't change they're vote, one person did unfortunately he was the owner, and some directors threatened or actually did walk out.

Posted about the plastic subject way down in banter page 3 guys.

Killie is (was) my second SPFL team below Rangers and sad they did not reinstall a grass pitch.

Also sad they are relegated but won't miss their plastic pitch (remember I'm an Ayrshire tattie man guys) .

Would like to see someone produce a plastic pitch that performed exactly like the real thing.

Have seen in person the state of our Ibrox pitch got into in constant heavy rain, a quagmire .

Lets hope our new layer solves the problem meantime tho.

The12thman it’s obvious that TT had hit the L button instead of the K, Tom doesn’t keep very well, So instead of trying to take the P##s out of someone’s mistake, Think before you make a smart A##e comment, 🇦🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚽️🇬🇧👍.

There is a previous example of this happening, Dunfermline were told that they wouldn't be allowed to have a plastic pitch in the top league and had to replace it. It was one of the first of the plastic pitches and was absolutely horrendous to be honest! That indirectly led to them nearly going out of business as they used to hire their pitch out, and when hey had to revert to grass they lost a fair whack of regular income. I personally am against plastic pitches and feel they have no place in the top league, and if clubs want to use them and share them with the community then they must understand that they are relinquishing the chance to play in the top league in my opinion.

What a lot of BS uefa have nothing to do with the pitches in our league if there is a vote and it’s 11/ 1 then Killie will need to get a grass pitch if they get back up plain and simple.

FC1962, not my place to say but I don’t think Tom was taking the p1ss out the guy I think it was just a bit of humour, that’s how I read it anyway.
On to my point in plastic pitches, they’re a pain in the @rse for us but a necessary source of revenue for these less supported smaller clubs. Easy solution, force them to have grass pitches but try and help fund the lost revenue they get that they need to survive. Everyone’s happy!
