After the low of the Czech game, it was good to see Scotland give us some pride back with a battling draw against England.
For all the well deserved stick that the players and management rightfully received after the first game they deserve some praise after last night's game.
Still not convinced Dykes is the answer up front. And McGregor was anonymous in the middle. Robertson's final ball was terrible as well.
But McTominey and Hanley were superb at the back.
And the star of the show was undoubtedly Gilmour. What a talent!
On to Croatia now with a slim chance of qualification for the knock out stages. What an achievement that would be.

Created enough chances to win both games mph. Need the midfield to try get beyond as much as possible. As much as the draw is a good result were still underperforming with that group of players.

Agree they did well just think if the game plan is to kick from back to front we need more people ready for the second ball think dykes did exactly what was asked of him. Put nesbit on and it's a completely different game where we need to play out from the back and England can press high up the park and invite more pressure. Thought the whole ITV coverage was really disrespectful even for English media standards.

I thought the midfield and 3 centre backs were amazing last night, what a shift with Gilmore the best. I would still swap O’Donnell for Patterson. He had a decent game last night but we will need some pace to attack against Croatia. Dykes didn’t contribute much threat for me.

Gilmour was fantastic. I thought McGinn and Adams were very good too and so was the defence. I'd start the same team on Tuesday.

I agree dykes was part of the plan that had England all over the place, that tactic would never have worked without him and Adams

But my telly was on stv, that’s probably why mine was heavy on Scotland, what else do you expect if your watching English commentators.

O'Donnell had a better game last night than he did against the Czechs, though that wouldn't be hard!
And you can see his limitations as a wing back when on a couple of occasions he had acres of space in front of him but was behind the midfielder with the ball. Now he might have just been cautious or it was down to tactics.
But he was very unlucky with his effort on goal.

T thumb watched it on itv player so not sure what difference it made. Lee Dixon Clive Tilsley and Ally Mccoist. Dixon continually pointing out Billy gilmour was leggy and looked off the pace 20mins in🤭 and after the game the pundits talked about how England were lethargic and gave us the chance to play. Graham Souness constantly pointed out it was us who stopped them playing and that we played well which they weren't really having. Still think it's 2 points dropped but I'd have taken 1 b4 start.

To be fair to O'Donnell the switch of play isn't quick enough for him he has to drop in by the time the ball comes back across the part. He made a switch of play twice that put Robertson I think it was in a great position only because of the direct pass.

The only reason O’Donnell is getting picked out is because some on here think Paterson is Cafu and want him in ahead of him. O’Donnell had a great game last night against top quality opposition. Paterson has had a handful of games for us and WILL be a great player for us fans Scotland but have patience.

Agree Alloa think the boy needs a bit of time in that environment will do him no harm. What might would have been an off game and everyone getting on top of him like they did o donnel in the first game.
