Rangers statement.
FOLLOWING lengthy discussions with the Scottish Government and local authorities, Rangers have been granted permission to host 2000 supporters at Saturday's friendly match with Arsenal.
Season ticket holders who have access to all games at Ibrox will be given priority with the balance being balloted among season ticket holders who are MyGers members and have enrolled in the home friendly scheme.
Those who are successful in the ballot will receive an email outlining arrangements for Saturday's match.
Rangers are disappointed at the small number of supporters being granted access given the precedent which was set at the Euro 2020 matches at Hampden Park as well as at other sporting events in Scotland, and the time it has taken to have the number of supporters confirmed by the Scottish Government.
Club football shafted again!

You are so right MPH, at least in Scotland. As from next Monday there will be no limit on crowds at sporting events in England. It has been a joke that large crowds have been allowed to watch the Euro matches and Wimbledon yet with the new football season almost upon us, there are still restrictions on crowds.

So I guess that the CL qualifier over by next week will come under the same restrictions?

They are apparently requesting an additional 18,000 for their CL qualifier, Seeker.
I can see this opening up a can of worms.
2000 in Easter Road last night and the fans in the stand opposite the main stand had all congregated in one corner!

Definitely John25. My issue will be consistency.
Aberdeen apparently already requesting 8200 for every home game up to a certain date - that's about a 3rd of their capacity.
If they get it, then Celtic should get the 20,000 ( about a 3rd of Parkhead ) which means we should be entitled to a 3rd of Ibrox - 17,000.
Let's just hope ScotGov are consistent and fair.

Rfc stop worrying about them. We want them to have 20000. It strengthens our argument.

I hope they do let 20000 fans into Parkhead. That would mean they will let 17000 into our qualifier. Fingers crossed 🤞.
