Just read MPHs earlier post and was very impressed. His link up play as well as his assists make him irreplaceable by players currently in our squad. You will always have detractors who say things like he should have got on the end of Tavs bullet cross on Saturday 🤔, but in reality that is when his finishing normally excels as he is an instinctive finisher as opposed to a Defoe who is more clinical.

I love Alf but no matter how he plays, and he is doing great in some games, but he isn’t a natural finisher in the mould of Defoe, he is strong and difficult to budge of the ball, I actually believe Gerard changed his role BECAUSE he isn’t a natural finisher and was beginning to struggle in front of goal, defenders had sussed him out and it wasn’t working, so his role was changed slightly and it has in the main worked, I hope he has a cracker on Thursday but I have grave doubts he will do that, hopefully I’m wrong

It’s only a football opinion.

I love alfredo morelos and i know exactly what you're meaning TT12 🤔
Alfredo isn't a natural finisher like defoe or roofe at ibrox! Morelos is more power and smashes the ball with power usually when in front of goal and when he's too much time to think on a one on one finish he misses a good few. The difference with defoe and roofe is they become loose/ composed when faced with a one on one situation! They don't snatch and can pass the ball into the net as well as using power when needed 👌I said before on here that roofe would be my penalty kick taker or barisic 👍.

Allthefives55,we'll not be long and finding out how good he is when he's playing for hearts 🤔I think he's an extremely talented footballer who was inconsistent and like TT12 stated misguided! But he's not the young talented footballer anymore and if he's matured and settled down then in my opinion, hearts have a talented footballer on their hands and we'll witness how talented he is 🤔.

Defoe is no whee near Alfredo when it omens to bullying defences and creating space for others.

I’m guessing that if our tactics required a natural goal scorer like Defoe we would have dumped Alfie and bought someone more like Defoe.

Not worth comparing apples with oranges.
