Not my words guys.

With thanks to Cameron Willis Rangers News.

Rangers midfielder John Lundstram has faced a difficult start to life at Ibrox and when first impressions don't land in Glasgow, players often struggle to change perceptions. Coming with solid pedigree from the English Premier League, in a transfer window which focused on retaining players Lundstram stands as the marquee signing.

Fashion Sakala is another big name move who'll be on big wages but it is the ex-Sheffield United midfielder the scrutiny is currently on. Criticised early in his Ibrox career for killing the tempo of the match, Lundstram's flaky start to his Rangers career sees the spotlight instantly on him when he starts a game.

The horror show against Alashkert - where a clearly nervous Lundstram was sent off for two needless yellow cards - have somewhat transformed this into a target. It's not entirely fair; the player himself admitted that there would be some adjustment to his game leaving relegation fodder for Championship material in the summer.

But that nervousness has somewhat festered and now a player who the management team would've certainly viewed as important to our campaign has split the crowd.
Talk to some Rangers fans and they'll praise Lundstram for his performance against Lyon at Ibrox.
To them the powerful midfielder looked more composed, more positive and - had it not been for a few feet - a potential hero on the night.

Others - perhaps those who met every square or back pass with a groan - seen the player's performance differently.
Some view Lundstram as too negative, cumbersome and hesitant, his style limiting Rangers' game rather than enhancing it.

Can't disagree with any of that, BlueBilly. 👍
As fans we are normally blinkered in our opinions by transfer fees or weekly wages that we expect every player to hit the ground running.
Throw in the fact Rangers as a club don't have money to burn, we often fear the worse after a few games.

Good post mate. Plenty have recovered from shaky starts, McCoist, Goram, Hately, Amoruso, etc etc.

To be honest I don’t and didn’t think of him as a box to box player. Happy for him to take the sting out opposition attacks, be composed and then pass it to someone who have a higher tempo game. Lennon and Ferguson anyone. Remember Barry was always getting called square pass Ferguson. However 3 in midfield might not suit that.

At least he's played a game now without being terrible. We now know he is capable of at least an average performance. Who knows maybe in the next few months he might surprise me and start putting in some good or if we're very lucky even great performances. Fingers crossed it's the later.

Genuine answer to the question, I reckon we would get 9million for him, and before anyone talks about prices other players have went for, that's an over inflated market down there.
