Disclaimer - Just my opinion.

I actually agree with Coldo on Aribo. Aribo is not a Rangers class midfielder. His passing is not great, not much in the air, can't tackle, can't drive with the ball for 90mins, all the skills you need in the middle. If our squad was fully fit he wouldn't be in midfield. He is much more effective on the edge of the box. Even in that position he needs to start producing more assists and goals, less touches would be a start. He is fantastic at taking the ball in tight spaces and moving to create a bit of space but get a shot off man.

Rubbish
He wins the ball most of the time by being quick not hammer thrower tackles.

Very harsh regarding Aribo. SG sometimes plays him in a front 3. That's clearly not his position and why he does it is beyond me. He plays best behind the front 2 (which we don't play) or running at defences.

He takes too many touches. Lots of skill that can't be denied but decision making can be awful. As gets older he will iron out the problems in his game but at present it can be really annoying. Back heelers and passes that go to the opposition seem to happen all the time. Its one thing a striker keeping trying even after missing 80% of his shots as mccoist would admit to, but a player constantly trying fancy skills when the simple pass is on is unforgivable. Kent is similar the think I like about Wright over Kent is that Wright will turn just as good as Kent take on a man and get his pass off and move into an area to receive the return pass. Kent will beat the man turn back beat him again then run around the door closing into the areas his team mates have taken up therefore cancelling them out of the game when he does make a pass much of the time it's because he has run out of ideas rather than came up with new ones. This is the reason for Kent's assist rate being so low. Granted the boy can turn players inside out but like aribo he holds onto it too long turning his own players inside out and losing the opportunity to score more goals, it is the reason we don't get the same amount of goals from our strikers roofe runs into Morelos's space as he wants to be in the box rather than jockey in and out. Roofe may get goals but along with Kent and aribo they also stop them. Sometimes simple is better especially when you are a team that will have 70+% possession.

Where did I say he can't win the ball, he can but he is limited in the way he can do this. wouldn't class Ryan Jack, Lundstrum or Kamara as hammer throwers but all 3 are getting the ball off you one way or the other. Aribo would be 4th in this list in ball wining capabilities, don't you think.

Takes the ball in tight spaces and somehow gets out of them. I think he's class. When everybody is fit he will still play. He did before and we've only added lundstram to the middle. Jack hopefully back come end october. only 2 of jack kamara and davis will likely start.

Harsh - that's the territory if you want to play in a successful Rangers team and all the players will know that. Thought Lundtrum had a fantastic game to balance the negative and Haji showed real passion and lifted the team to another level.

Not many players can drive with the ball for 90mins so don’t know why that’s a problem.

SG obviously likes him as he keeps playing him I am taking it that it’s aribo week for the bashing can we run a book on who it is for next week?

Lundstrum 1/ 1
Alfreod 7/ 4
Hagi 2/ 1
Goldson 7/ 2

Feel free to add 😬.

🤣🤣🤣 Fair play to you with that post KJ, but you're not too shy of getting involved in a bit of Tav bashing every now and again yourself. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but some take it to the extreme. We can all be guilty of it, but some like (you know who) are worse for it than others on here. Some on here seem fixated with a certain player (Alfie), and that's it. I will always give credit where is due, but for some reason there's one or two who will never hold their hands up and give out praise to the same player they have been lambasting. That's even after they've finished top scorer. Or scored the winner in a tight game. Or ran the opposition ragged during a game. Or scoring the most goals in Europe for a right-back/ defender.

Before Sakala got a start against Motherwell I couldn't see what he was going to bring to the team, and I mentioned it a couple of times. Now I've see a bit more if him, there's a very direct player in there who can offer us something. I was wrong about him and I admit it. I know I can be too quick to judge sometimes, but when I'm wrong I'll hold my hands up.

Oh, to cut a long story short, Joe Aribo is a terrific player in my opinion and we should be thankful we have him.

ST, I've seen him drive with the ball so he can do it but not enough for me that's the reason I said the 90 min comment. I've been very consistent in my opinions and if anybody takes the time to read anything I post will know i'm not a basher. Just want to see the players get better and the team improve and this is my amateur at best opinion on a particular weakness in one player that I would like to see improve. I could post more but not one for the big lengthy posts, just trying to spark a wee debate folks. Kamara would be my first choice in Left mid and would like him to practice his shooting, if he could score he would be a 50 million player.

It’s known as football discussion mate, if nobody had an opinion we wouldn’t have a forum, been happening since time immemorial

Strange how we can, or I can discuss anything about Rangers and Rangers players in the pub or club, but on here people seem very uppity and almost fatherlike about football players they will never meet, its fans talking, it should be just like the boozer, but it isn’t,

Aribo is a wonderful talent.
Not good in the air? Won the first header last week for Sakala to score.
Can't beat Celtic with Aribo in the middle? We destroyed them at Ibrox. He even ended up playing LB in the same game and strolled it.
Can't drive with the ball? Seen him do it loads.
First touch is out of this world.
Disclaimer - your opinion lost all relevance when you quoted Koldo or is it Koldo 2.0 these days🤔🙄😂😂.

Most players can’t drive with ball for 90 mins tho BMGH that’s my point

Sooty Tav is 4/ 1 if you would like a bet.

Tav's a stick on KJ. It doesn't matter what he does, he gets it from all angles. Tav gets it more than any other player at Rangers. Even Morelos!
See If I'm being honest, it's great being back at the games, but some of the crowd's reactions to certain players when the misplace a pass, give the ball away etc is so depressing to hear. We've always been like this for as long as I've been going to games. The first whipping boy I remember was big Dave Mcpherson when I started going.

22.) 25 Sep 2021
25 Sep 2021 14:54:41
That’s why a lot played far better last season without fans, ibrox has long been the most intimidating stadium for home players to play in,
It’s been a well known fact since I first kicked a ball, some rangers players wilted very quickly so I’m told and some still do,

I think that we have some quality players at Rangers, But for me I would like to see more shots from outside the box, Hopefully today, Yes it’s really good to see a flick or back heel come off, But trying to walk the ball into net is getting to predictable, C’mon the Famous 🇦🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚽️👍.
