IMO if anyone thinks there is a possibility in SG joining Villa, then they have never paid attention to what our Gaffer has said and is currently saying.

They only way SG goes is if he's a liar, a fraud or doesn't practise what he preaches. Now he could turn out to be that man, but for me he is not that man. He is not a liar, he's straight.

I don't believe he will ever leave a third or half way through a season either, timing will be everything to him. Of course he could get sacked ( doubt it highly ) but we're not talking about sacking.

Here is being tested about winning at Villa you just don't need to win like you do here. Villa is not a test he needs.

HE WILL NOT LEAVE NOW OR FOR THIS CLUB.

I may be proved wrong, I just really doubt I am.

Let's wait and see.

I think you may be wrong unfortunately. SG knows he won't get Liverpool job on his achievements in Glasgow. He may have to sell 1 or 2 players in Jan weakening team and it'll make winning league more difficult also if as expected Villa make an approach his advisors would've made it clear he's int. So either Rangers say no to villa or SG makes it known he's not int. Nxt couple days are crucial but I fear if he's asked he'll take job. I hope I'm wrong.

Xavi is getting the Barcelona job and what has he achieved?

Barca are desperate and in worse financial position than us.

Just seen an interview with Jamie Carragher where he says ideally SG wants to leave Rangers with another couple of trophies under his belt. Its just Carraghers opinion but I just wonder if they have spoken about it and this is a wee hint that he will be staying. I certainly hope so.

Xavi, Ole, Koeman, Lampard etc ex legends get the top jobs all the time. I would say Gerrard has achieved more than Xavi, Ole and Lampard and a load more as a manager. Not saying he’s ready or it’ll work or not but there’s no reason why Liverpool wouldn’t take him straight from Rangers. Especially if he went on to win the league this year maybe other trophies and competes in champions league next year.

IMO there is zero chance that SG will leave us this season.

He had many opportunities to leave Liverpool but stayed, fulfilled his contracts and maintained hi professional attitude.

Villa remain a car crash of a club albeit with money but no manager will get them into Europe for at least 2 seasons and SG will want to show his ability to manage a team in Europe to have a chance of replacing Klopp.

Barca are in no way desperate and they are in more debt than us but they have much much bigger assets than we do and much more income coming in than us.

In truth none of us know if he goes to Villa or stay, that is fact.

I remain optimistic that he won't go there for a couple of reasons, based on quotes Gerrard has made himself.

On managing Rangers, he said he would always want to be at a club where there was an expectation to be competing for titles, he said that pressure is what drove him on and he had it his whole career. He ain't getting that at Villa. As much as its a step up in league etc, they are never going to compete for titles.

He also said after 55 "I thought in football it was one club for life, but i was wrong, this place has really grabbed me. I'm really happy here and i'm hungry to win more". (This was literally 5/ 6 months ago) .

2 Weeks ago when asked about the Newcastle job he said "Don't ask me silly questions". Now based on what's just happened at Newcastle with the takeover, i'd assume if he had the chance of going there, but wasn't interested, then he ain't going to be interested in Aston Villa.

Now he may just have been saying what people wanted to hear, but if you are taking him at face value, then that all points to him staying with Rangers. His whole career he's been an honest man and says exactly how it is.

Currently the only thing pointing him to Villa is that they have put him on their radar of candidates and Chris Sutton has said he fully expects him to take the job. I'm afraid i'll need something a bit more concrete than that before i start panicking!

LOL!

Love the comments guys, still stick by it, I don't think he will go but of course I could very well be proved wrong!

if he goes then he's lied to us all and possibly himself.

Everything SG has told us tells us he won't leave this way or for Villa

Ive been wrong on here before and I will be wrong many many times to come!

fingers crossed i'm right here.

Heres one: if he does go, then there is only two contenders for me to replace. Lamps or Beale! Or Lamps with Beale that's 3. lol

Dee mc, realistically Barcelona are in a much worse financial position than us, far worse. Hence a wage cap and can't afford players. Winning league this year champions league money puts us almost on even financial footing, Barcelona over 1 billion in debt and most sellable assets gone.
