Av read that villa will need to pay 2m compensation to rangers to get Gerrard. It should be the remainder of his contract 9m. If rangers had to sack him we would need to pay it.

Sweep that has been denied this morning by people in the know at the Club that have said the compensation is significantly more. I would like to think that this is the case given what Brendan Rodgers' compensation was across the City.

I've read £4.5 million release clause for Gerrard alone from more reliable sources than Sweep1.
