Last word from me on Mr Gerard. If you feel that missing your family was a considerable factor in leaving our great club then maybe a possible change of career should be considered. God help his family if he signs for a turkish team or even italy . look at celtics manager --australia to scotland . all the best to the guy but find better excuses to leave clubs in the lurch half way through the season . end of story -2-o win for the boys against hibs and GVB in the stand hopefully--.

The writing was on the wall in that regard! They all said they LOVED the States and hoped to stay longer. Then months later stated they were home sick!

It seems to be the way with people born in UK. Don’t have the mental state to adapt! It’s sad really considering the job he is in. So you’re spot on, get a new job or here’s an idea move the family up and they could have visited family down south when he was abroad etc! Manage things better! Bad home decision cost Rangers. It staggers me how people kid themselves in and continue to make the same mistakes. Perhaps the American experience is why they chose to remain in Liverpool, but then they’ve wanted their cake and to eat it.

Anyway it’s done, regardless, he chose his family and every man father and husband should do the same.

Good post mate.

This nonsense about Gerrard being closer to his family is just that, nonsense. It didn't stop him playing in the States did it? Birmingham is still around 80 miles from Liverpool (try getting a flight from Birmingham to Liverpool) and from Liverpool to Glasgow between 177 and 200 miles, depending if you fly or drive. Not a huge difference. Gerrard wanted to move on, probably because funds were going to be limited next season. These managers trot the globe from team to team, hoover up the money on offer and generally don't give two hoots how far they are from 'home'. e. g. Mourinho, Benitez, et al.

Family is everything, mine is keeping me alive, but I don’t believe Gerard’s homesick is at all real, the guy could have been there twice a week if he needed, now he’s an hour away instead of 2,

Here here Tom. It’s just an excuse to hide the fact that he deserted us at the first chance he got. Why say he was happy and settled and then little over a week later he’s on the next bus to Birmingham. Some might not be able to see through his lies but I can.

Steven Gerrard talking about the Rangers fans on the day he was unveiled as Rangers manager. “ their loyalty and how they have stood by their club through everything is certainly one of the values that I believe in” Why did you dessert us at the first opportunity then? Where was the loyalty to your players that you worked with for 3 and a half years that you couldn’t even afford them a goodbye?

Broxi, do u find it strange that Wilson and others did not refuse him chance to talk to villa, or try persuade him to stay along with Beale or others.
