Who did he sign for Bar? I thought he couldn’t sign until his 16th birthday?

Barry who has he signed for, he can't sign his first oroffesion contract till he's 16 so at the moment no one can legally sign him or offer him a deal as that's tapping that's how Chelsea got their ban on signing youth player because of antics with Gilmour and another youth they tapped up.

{Ed001's Note - it is 17 in England isn't it?}

Ed don't know if there's different types of contact they can offer youth but obviously must be something at 16 because that's when gilmour signed. Perhaps you could clear this up.

{Ed001's Note - that was one of the reasons why young English lads went to Germany as they could sign at 16. Spain is 18, hence why Arsenal poached Fabregas. Legally Chelsea would have had to offer a youth deal at 16 with a guaranteed pro deal at 17. No doubt there were lots of 'gifts' going about though. Often the family are given a big house and 'jobs' that involve no work but a big salary. Even as long ago as Duncan Edwards it was going on and his ma got a brand new washing machine for his signature on a Man Utd contract. In those days no one had washing machines so it was a huge incentive. I have no idea why it is 17 though.}

Correct Ed one. 16 pro form in Scotland. 17 in England
However a player can sign for English club at 16 but not as a professional.

Bar how good does it feel to give a 15 year old boy stick. Disgrace as you do not know what he will do.

Thanks Ed and John. So he can register for any club as of next month just not sign pro contract in England till next year.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

Not giving him stick John25, we've been talking for months about the goals he has been scoring, also talking about some of the biggest teams in the country/ Europe watching him every week. If he has not been advised to take a big signing on fee and move to another country I would be VERY VERY surprised.
And of course we can coin in the huge development fee for it.
Good luck to the lad, he is in a very good bargaining position with all his suitors.

Bar the formula for Wilson or any player is pre set.
However from rangers point off view
Gilmour to Chelsea was done in a deal where Chelsea really upped the anti
Man City did the same with Dire Mebube.
Note both clubs could simply have paid us circa 150k with absolutely no add ons

We ourselves have done similar deals with
Allen, hearts
Weston, Blackpool
Graham, Ross county
And a couple of the Irish lads.

Kaiser imo the answer is no.
Reason I say that is he is not 16 till July. He can not openly agree a deal till 16.
Does not stop him verbally saying I’m staying or signing for xyz.
I wish him the very best whatever he chooses to do, just hope if he leaves he does not go east with his brother,
I know they are very young but I’m told both are better than Gilmour, gtreat for Scotland if they make it.

I’m sure gilmours dad was getting 5k a week as his agent or somthing like that when he was 16.
