How do we think Gio will approach Lyon away on Thursday?
It's an interesting one as it's a dead rubber in the sense that it is meaningless on how the group finishes.
But financially it could be an extra £500K for the club if we won.

From a season perspective the Hearts game on Sunday is more important.
From a team perspective will Gio want to build on the momentum he's already gathered in his first 4 games?
Or will he see it as an opportunity for squad players to get some much needed game time?

The likes of Jack, Lundstram, Bacuna, Kent, Patterson, Wright, McLaughlin etc could be brought in without the balance of the team being affected too much.
I think Morelos is banned? So that gives an opportunity for Roofe to start.
Gio might just like to play what he deems his strongest 11. But December is notorious for the amount of games that get played in a short period of time.

With this in mind and assuming everyone is fit my team would be:-
McLaughlin
Patterson Goldson Balogun Bassey
Jack Bacuna
Wright Kent Sakala
Roofe

No matter the side that is picked, Gio has certainly instilled his way of managing and ideas on the team. With everyone so far buying into them.

I don't see GVB dropping McGregor now that he is back in form, McLaughlin is no where near as good. Balogun didn't travel so I expect it to be the same defence.

I can see us resting Morelos as he is just one booking away from a suspension so probably Sakala and Roofe.
Not sure that Wright is good enough for Europe.
