We are all hurting after our teams performance last night and i was having a confab with fellow bluenose's at work today about our defence which was all over the shop last night! We were then discussing our best centre half goldson's performance in general and even he was well below par ?It got us talking and reminiscing about all the terrific centre halfs we've had over the years and the most common 2 names that we all spoke about in tandem, were the fantastic richard 'the lion heart' gough and terry butcher ?
We got then talking about who was the better centre half between richard gough and terry butcher and it was even steven TBH ? So my question to my fellow bears is this who was the better centre half in your eyes ? richard gough V terry butcher and what's your reasons for your choice ?For the record i think gough edges it over butcher just!

I'd go for Goughie, he just oozed class and made the art of defending look effortless but he was also a warrior.

I thought Gough was the better footballer, but big Terry had tremendous heart. Both excellent players for us that will be so hard to come by again.
