Here Roofe had a quad problem and hence why he was taken off, not sure if this was an injury going into game or picked up during game. I hope Roofe doesn't now miss several weeks as he is an important player for us.

Fingers crossed it's a minor Injury.

He is injury prone hence why his previous team wanted rid.

2.) 03 Jan 2021 13:33:18
He took a couple of thuds, yesterday, so hopefully nothing serious.

3.) 03 Jan 2021 17:54:20
I heard same, apparently a flat rear left tyre and gearbox trouble.

4.) 04 Jan 2021 11:52:56
No what I heard Bizzmy, I heard it was handbrake cable strain.

So true what they say about supporters being fickle. A bit of perspective needed folks

1) People saying Kent been honking for weeks. He had 2 assists vs Aberdeen and was brilliant he did have a bad game yesterday but he offers a lot to team even if not scoring or assists yes he could do better but he ain't honking
2) People saying drop Hagi and Aribo and what replace them with barker and Stewart give me peace. If we had arfield and Roofe fine that would make sense. Don't forget these two same players were instrumental coming off the bench to beat Motherwell at Ibrox
3) 15 wins in a row and then a single draw and now we are danger of crumbling come on! We didn't lose any ground this weekend
4) Change formation to a 4-4-2 ok when we only have Kent as a winger and apparently he should be dropped. Nothing wrong with formation

One thing I think we maybe could have done in hindsight was to play similar to how we did against Kilmarnock on their plastic pitch given SG said they knew in advance that the pitch was in a bad condition. A lot of our technical players struggled controlling the ball. I think playing Itten and maybe having a midfield with one holding player and two players who hunt down second balls. Our midfield against Kili away was Jack, Aribo and Arfield and Itten played out wide. If you recall we played very direct that day to good affect I felt yesterday a similar tactic might have worked better.

Good post but to get the best from Kent he needs compotition for a Jersey. Stewart and Barker aren't bad players and should have been used more this season to keep their eye in for when we do need to use them.

2.) 18 Jan 2021 08:53:44
Good post BRW, I think when Wright signs, play him wide on the right, with Kent wide on the left, and Itten leading the line, that would put more pressure on the opposing full backs, just an opinion, but I agree we are seeing a total overreaction to a draw.

3.) 18 Jan 2021 09:34:22
good post brw. even tav and barasic was doing cut backs instead of first time crosses until our goal and the last 5 minutes. even davis was caught on his heels a couple of times and the defence had a flat footed moment. its done and no real disaster. expecting rebound.

4.) 18 Jan 2021 14:02:40
Great post BRW. For some . Kent and Aribo should stilll be showing silky skills on a tattie field . not that simple me thinks 🤔.

Just watched Ask the coach on YouTube with Michael Beale. Fascinating insight into how our first team is coached and why I think many of our players love playing for the rangers management team.

Interesting that Beale says about looking to work abroad again after his spell in Brazil. I think SG will want to take the management team to Liverpool when he moves on.

I hope we can get people in with a similar mindset to Beale, very impressive individual

Worth a watch!

Yes BRW11,michael beale has a terrific coaching/ tactical mind 👌
A lot of rangers supporters i know and have spoken to, hope when gerrard eventually does move on from rangers, that he'd be a very good choice to replace gerrard as rangers manager/ head coach 🤔 He's a lot of the brains behind our coaching styles and coaching of our players 👌 Its very feesible however, to think he'll go with gerrard when that time does come🤔.

2.) 06 Jan 2021 15:28:16
IMO not a chance Beale will replace gerrard, great coach but not the profile required IMO.
He will go to Liverpool will Sg.

3.) 06 Jan 2021 15:37:28
I agree John, think Michael Beale is a major part of Steven Gerrards learning and will follow him if and when he gets the Liverpool job.

4.) 06 Jan 2021 16:26:53
There's no way Beale will manage Rangers.
A club of Rangers size needs a manager of stature to carry on the good work done by Gerrard.

5.) 06 Jan 2021 16:44:02
Coops, when SG leaves Beale goes with him.

6.) 06 Jan 2021 17:08:03
I said as much bankie no argument from me here my friend 👍🇬🇧.

7.) 06 Jan 2021 18:26:25
Defo a big part of our operation he is constantly in stevie ear on touchline.

Does anyone know what the injury is with Jack? His last game was back at the end of November against Aberdeen and I don't recall at the time the injury being talked about as long term.

Asking a lot of a player like Davis given his age in terms of matches just hope the players can empty the tank in the next few games and then we have a less hectic schedule in January for a few weeks.

BRW11

1.) 30 Dec 2020 10:20:26
Someone will correct me I'm sure, but Jack has had a long term injury problem for a while. He does seem to miss a helluva lot of games.
Buzz, can you do a check for me please.

2.) 30 Dec 2020 11:01:45
Jack has a long term issue with his calf’s.

3.) 30 Dec 2020 12:34:37
Overplayed by Scotland in last set of internationals, paying for it now.

27 Dec 2020 10:08:26
Good to get another 3 points yesterday. Even though we are winning without Jack I'd like him back for old firm game as he would be ideal to keep tabs on Turnbull. I'm excited to see how Roofe does up against their defence as I think his movement will cause them problems. Hagi did well yesterday but for me I wouldn't start him in old firm I'd probably start Morelos as he looked sharp when he came on yesterday and you just feel he has to find his scoring touch soon and it might just be against them.

BRW11

1.) 27 Dec 2020 10:24:05
BRW11, expect Morelos to start against St Mirren on Wednesday and opportunity for him to prove he deserves place against Celtic.

2.) 27 Dec 2020 10:31:41
Losing Arfield and jack to injury for next week is a big loss for us.

3.) 27 Dec 2020 11:48:58
Gutted to lose Arfield, he provides a lot of balance to the midfield. His work rate is outstanding.

4.) 27 Dec 2020 15:46:48
Both Jack and Arfield are big losses. Can't see the boss throwing Jack in against them unless he at least plays part of the match against St Mirren. I think it would be a big risk and as he will an important player for us in the second half of the season, we can't take chances imo.

20 Dec 2020 06:57:11
I like the profile of our squad, however one area we could improve on is a player in midfield who can have a shot and score from outside the box. Who do we rate as our best player at shots from outside the box? I look at our midfield and would say maybe Arfield being the best at that but I don't feel we have any particularly outstanding in this area. Any names of players we have been linked with who could do a good job for us in this area Lewis Ferguson? Kenny McLean? Allan Campbell? Lundstram?

BRW11

1.) 20 Dec 2020 08:31:29
I like the look of Ferguson. I think he could come and step up. I wouldn’t really want to sign any of the other 3.

I would like to see a big powerful cm being signed. Box to box type or a Matthias sammer type cb/ sweeper who can bolt up the park and shoot.

2.) 20 Dec 2020 08:33:21
Maybe in the summer if we sell Kamara not in January. We're well covered in midfield. There's no need to buy anyone right now. Gerrard's got a big enough problem on team selection and keeping 18 players happy.

3.) 20 Dec 2020 09:19:21
I would like to see kamara have more shots at goal. He gets into plenty of shooting opportunities and very rarely takes a pop.

4.) 20 Dec 2020 13:25:36
Klub part of our model going forward, sign lundstrum on a free.
U eventually sell someone big money.

5.) 20 Dec 2020 17:16:34
Ffs not allan Campbell again 🤣🤣🤣.

Like a lot of our transfer activity this has come from nowhere. He looked lively against us and is only 23 but I can’t say I honestly no much about him certainly quick. Any thoughts on if he would be any good? An upgrade on barker and Jones?

Yeah that if true would be sad news indeed SGL I rate Jack and think he is a player that potential to improve even more under Gerrard. His injury record is certainly a concern and think we need to consider another alternative. I would have hoped Zungu might have been a potential alternative but so far yet to be convinced too early to make a final conclusion on Zungu but at present looks a long way off what we get from Jack.

Kent will start, he has not at his best recently but I think the rest midweek will have done him good plus he will get more space against that lot and he tends to play well in old firm games. I think many have commented that he sometimes tries to hard. What I like about Kent is he doesn’t hide always looking for the ball. He will come good again this season.

I think Goldson and Helander are our strongest pairing and Helander Benfica game apart hasn’t put a foot wrong. Hopefully he will be back soon as I rate Big filip. Beyond me how any rangers fan can criticise either Helander or Balogun given our defensive record this year.

I agree Blue dreamer on a free this is a good signing he is a creative player who has been a consistent performer at championship level for many years. Will provide assists and goals. How good is our squad beginning to look. :-)

I think people who say not good enough for Europe are getting ahead of themselves we are lucky to attract Davis and Defoe and that has a lot to today with our manager we can’t go out spending the money Celtic can on players and Allen and SG are getting in a good mix of potential and established players.

Can’t believe I’m excited about Cowdenbeath in the cup but I just want to see how Defoe does.

Yeah I think that would probably be my team SGL. Although I wonder if starting with Itten, Morelos and Kent and bringing Hagi off the bench. I’d like to see Itten get more game time.

I agree SGL, I think Itten or Defoe need a run of games and are more likely at the minute to finish chances than Morelos who looks short of confidence. I’d maybe go with Itten against St Mirren through the middle and Defoe against Motherwell.

Gerrard has mentioned recently about a time when he will put his family first. I’m not sure if SG will be managing into his 60s like Jose, Ferguson or Wenger. I think with the Liverpool job a bit like Man Utd do you want to be the one who follows Klopp, I think you want to be the guy after that. Time will tell but let’s enjoy him while we have him I like most fans probably feel real excitement and joy watching us play right now. What is really exciting is I think Gerrard has real ambitions for us beyond this year It feels like his work is far from done so let’s hope he stays for a long time.

MunBears your entitled to your opinion but to say Tav is 10 times better than Kyle Walker is for me complete nonsense. Tav is playing brilliantly and I believe could more than hold his own for a prem team but for me he is not better than Kyle Walker, are they on a par I’m not sure as you can’t compare level of competition Walker plays at vs Tav.
